I have an rsst and recently built a coil.

However, the center post is essentially impossible to tighten down because it pushes the bottom post through.

As a result, I get jumping ohm's that vary from .4 - .8 using an ohm reader. (assuming its related to the center post issue)

Adjusting the center post does change the ohms while it's sitting on the meter.

Any ideas on what to do here?

There are some devices out there that when the RSST or other rda/RBA's are fitted flush, the 510 connection doesn't make a connection. The RSST has the adjustable pin to make a connection in almost any device. Once you have the center pin adjusted for whatever device you are putting it on, there is no need to adjust it anymore. Remember, the pin just has to make contact inside the connector... If you adjust the pin in your meter it will fluctuate the reading because its moving, that is all...

So your spring isn't applying enough pressure to trap the leg? I use a ninja mods center post which is a little long. As a result I need to add a plastic washer under the spring to keep the tension the same.

I just went to lowes grab some nylon washers that looked like they would fit.

That also applies even pressure to the AGA silicone insulator which makes it water tight.

It's trapping it, just not as tight as I would expect.

Positive (center post?) is wrapped all the way around.

Just a second ago, I put it on the ohm meter and it read 2.2 ohms. Put it on the mech mod and it fired like it was sub ohming.

Put it back on the ohm meter, .8 ohms.

Fired it some more, put it back on the meter, .57 ohms.

Is this normal?

Here is a picture of the coil. Maybe you guys can find something wrong with it visually.

28ga twisted kanthal with what I believe is 500 mesh.

Thanks again for all the help.
