Rsst not registering

I just got an rsst, granted missing the middle post. The problem is none of my mods detect the rsst. Do you think it's cause I'm missing the post and its shorting or there's something wrong with it and i should return it, instead of waiting for replacement parts.

it wont work without the middle post that's what makes the connection to the post on your device.

The center post is the positive contact of the connector, the threads are the negative contact. Unless you have connection both positive and negative it isn't completing the circuit so it won't work.
