I have a question,

I love the SmokTech RSST with the exception of the top cap (e.g.drip tip hole too large in diameter as well as too large of a chamber). Does anyone know if there is a third party replacement available with a reduced chamber and more sensible drip tip hole?

Also, I wonder if SmokTech will be coming out with a Version 2 anytime soon?

By the way, I have a silver center post coming from NinjaMods tomorrow (this guy is great - very fast shipping). Can't wait to see how it performs with the new center post! https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=160494223960909&story_fbid=626915203985473

Thanks!

Wow! Interesting. Most people find the top cap air hole too small, and drill it out. I've drilled all mine out to 1.2mm

OP said the drip tip hole is too big (not the air hole), and they are correct. 90% of the drip tips i've tried don't fit properly. I have a ss superT drip tip that fits somewhat snugly, but even then I can tell there is some play in it.

pmar, I have not seen any other top caps that will fit it properly. I am sure the AC9 would fit since the RSST is a clone of it, but I am not sure it is that different in dimension. Would probably be pricey as well. AC9 images/

Good luck.

I dont have that problem with the drip tip. If you do, pick up a thicker o-ring from the local hardware store and replace it on the drip tip.

As far reduced chamber size, i stuff some wet cotton in it. Works great for a smoother vape and more flavor.

One question though, how do you keep the cotton adhered to the top of the cap? Is wetting it sufficient? It doesn't fall down. I would think that if the cotton falls on the coils you would be in for quite an unpleasant surprise

I'm wondering the same thing. Very interested in this process.

Depends on what kind of cotton you use. I use an old 5mm thick cotton candle wick, it has some elasticity to it so it expands and sticks along the rounded inside of the top cap. Never had it fall down.

Just wanted to jump in here because I noticed the same thing with some tips I had (and of course, the stock rsst tip).. I just got some of the Vapelab drip tips in from AltSmoke and they fit the RSST like a glove.. dual o-rings as well. Might be a bit pricy for some, but they fit great.

Pop the o-ring off your drip tip and wrap a little dental floss/tape round the groove it sits in, then put it back on.

It'll tighten the fit without needing to replace the o-ring.

This works great for snugging up drip tips.

A similar method I use now, is a bit of ribbon kanthal wrapped inside the channel for the o-ring. This seems to stay in place and is easy to work with compared to dental floss. I will run my nail over the wire to give it a natural curve, cut it to length, and it wraps easily around the drip tip.
