hi, well this is my first post but im not a newbie vaper, i fully understand ohm law and use steam engine and other app to help manage coil building.

i have multiple vaping device (sigelei 150 and a few mech mod)
and I vape out of rebuildable rta (single and dual coil)

my sweet vaping spot is a single 1.2 omh 28 gauge kanthal around a 2mm screwdriver (6-7 wrap) with cotton, and that's used on a mech.

i know 18350 battery are not the way to go and im not looking to "get a 18650 mod blablabla" type of answer as I already have a nice sigelei 150 to blow clouds and a 26650 mech,

i have (according to me) a very nice looking setup using a 18350 mech and a big buddha rta (yes a big buddha on a 18350 )
but it's a little tricky to get good vapor production out of a 18350 battery while using dual coil (single coil seem to work better)

so far the best dual coil setup i figured out having a 6.4 amp battery(continous, not pulse)
is dual 9 wrap with gauge 30 kanthal around a 1.4mm screwdriver and that is giving me 0.8 omh what is according to me pushing a little hard on my small battery, id feel much more conftable staying above 1omh on those battery but it's very difficult to get the juice cooking with dual coil setup above 1omh on a MECH

im more than happy with this little on the go setup to vape in public or while visiting family, it's just perfect to me,

so if some vet here can help or have good dual coil idea to get decent cloud while staying safe using AW 18350 battery ( 6.4 amp)

like i said, i found my sweet spot with single coil, but for dual coil power is very limited on 18350 battery

so if you veteran know of a dual coil setup that can blow more cloud with a 6.4 amp batery than 30gauge kanthal 9 wrap around a 1.4mm screwdriver i'll be more than happy if you can share you're knowledge and experience

jeez I need the new 12 amp 18350 but i already have 6 of the older 6.4amp and i will never put my trust in a company like efest that boost there battery spec

thanks

the big problem is 6.4 amp on a fresh charged battery give about 26 watt so it give me 13 watt per coil
i figured the smaller the coil the better it is to get it to
heat quick but still it's very tricky to dual coil with 18350
battery

i tryed 28,30 and 32 gauge so far and i dont see how i could achieve better vapor production while keeping the coil enough to heat up fast at low power

Welcome to ECF, Jackson...

If you run 1.0Ω dual parallels, a fully charged 18350 will discharge 16 watts / 4 amps. To make the most of that 16 watts, you need to run 32 gauge wire - 7/6 on a 1/16" (1.588mm) mandrel (44.2mm per coil), to produce a warm heat flux of 285 mW/mm².

Too hot or too cool? Lower or raise net resistance 0.1Ω at a time.

Option: Single coil. 28 gauge wire - 8/7 at 1.0Ω on a 1/16" (1.588mm) mandrel (55.8mm)... again at 16 watts for a heat flux of 284 mW/mm². As before, raise or lower resistance 0.1Ω at a time to lower or raise HF.

thx state O' flux

28 gauge take to long to eat up in my opinion with that low power, it is working good in a single coil setup but not dual coil to me

i'll try again to coil it with gauge 32, my previous try was around a 2mm screwdriver but i will try 1.5 mm this time and see if it vape better than 30 gauge 1.5 mm diameter

i dont feel safe enough at 0.8 omh at the moment,

my goal is 1 omh dual coil with the best possible vapor production in dual coil on a mech

Well then I would suggest getting an A7 RDA, and build a 2 ohm coil using 30ga wire.

I have to say though that an 18490 battery would be a better choice. It's only 14mm longer & then you would have lots of choices of what will work.

for those who dont know the big buddha is a kayfun style rta so i dont have big airflow and im happy the way it is, i can set it up for really nice cloud on my sigelei 150 vaping it at 60 watt

but now that's not what im looking for, i just wonder if it's possible to give enough power to a dual coil setup while having only a 6.4 amp AW battery

Why are you stuck on dual coils?

There's always a way, many of us started out with 14500 batteries in our mech mods, and had no problem getting a good vape.
But, dual coils & large diameter drippers were not a good option with those small batteries.
Remember that you need to tighten up the air to get the heat when using more resistance. Your topper designed to work at 60 watts simply isn't going to work very well at 6 watts.

i dont have problem with single coil setup on those small battery and im pretty happy with my vapor production in dual coil as well;) i just wonder if there is a better way to set it up having those battery limit.

    i currently run
    gauge 30
    diameter 1.4
    9wrap
    ohm 0.8

but i dont like being that low in the resistance, it's to close to the battery limit for me to feel safe and adding more wrap make the heat up time a little to slow for me

i never tryed anything else than kanthal... can another coil material can give me an advantage for vapor production while having a dual coil setup of 1 omh??

mmm my tank is almost empty and im gonna recoil it later in the day

gonna try 1.4-1.5 diameter with kanthal gauge 32 shooting for 1ohm or any other suggestion from veteran who already went through this in the past

i had an awesome deal on a big buddha and im in love with the way it look on my small mod, i always been running 18350 in single coil back in the days using a five pawn kayfun lite clone

i guess im already very close to the best i can achieve with the battery limit, people at my local BB are pretty impress the way i achieve to get this small device to vape but you know how it is, always looking to get better
