i posted this on the "technical issues" but got no response so here's a copy/paste: :D
im a sloppy vaper and lets say i have some leaking problems. thing is that i think that the pg is destroying the rubber on the connectors. i've tried putting some gorilla super glue to keep it from moving but it didnt work. should i try some epoxy? i heard that locktite is quite good. the only one i have is this
image_2524.jpg

how do they compare? what do you guys suggest? thank you all!

Hmm don`t know there misterD.
Have you just tried a little solder build up on the center post to make it stick out more? Keep it as smooth as possible so when you screw the atomizer on it doesn`t cause the center pin to turn and twist the wire.

Or is the center pin actually wiggly in there. Maybe look into some Blue RTV sealant I`ve seen someone say they repair their rubber with when it breaks. Think the Blue stuff is high heat resistant. Another possibility is it`s in the atomizer I`ve heard where the center pin was actually pushed in to far and needed pulled out a little. But I`d build the center post up with a touch of solder if you can on the battery connector.

I`d say if you center post is a sealed one and the hardened epoxy doesn`t pass current which I don`t think it does it would be ok to do on the back side away from the atomizer. But I would for sure check it with a meter afterwards to make sure it isn`t touching or causing a grounding effect. Again this is only my opinion here. Or here is the worst thing replace it with a new one.

its the center pin that moves. i have to pull it out or else it doesnt work. i dont think it should move at all. if i attach my 901 adapter to vape cartos it pushes the dang thing down so theres no contact when i change to 510. i would think i effed up by heating it up too much with my poor soldering skills but even my madvapes PT suffer from the same issue. than the light keeps blinking like its shorting or something.
its gotta be the PG that weakened the rubber on the inside... thanks for always been so helpful connman. now that you have a 18650 why dont you make a fistpack?

Mister there is nothing you can really do for this besides shaving a little off the center post inside the device so it doesn't push so much on the center of the atty. I had this problem with my V2 and fixed by the way I just suggested. But if you do that you need to be careful to only remove a little or just enough to make it so when you screw your atty down it has just enough there to make contact. Other then that you will have to keep pulling the centers slightly out every once and awhile. My Prodigy V2 even broke a fw attys by doing this so badly it made the wire break after awhile from moving so far up and down so many times before I fixed it.

Like E_DeCastro said, just don't screw it down so hard. All it has to do is make contact.
Do not epoxy it... It is supposed to be flexible. You've got some of that mold making stuff don't you? Doesn't it stay flexible? Make a ring. I've been trying to find some silicone(like the ring & cart/carto condos are made of), but haven't really had any luck yet.

Hi there Sci,
You got me thinking and although I haven`t yet had any trouble with these rubber silicon gasket spacer things I may have a solution. I`m actually using a medical piece of tube off a breathing treatment thing. But here is the idea and it seemed to work if anyone see`s anything wrong please jump in and say so.

I know you have the air line like tubing in multiple sizes I think. Well this one is smaller then that center pin and kind of hard to get it on but once you do it and play with it till it reaches the broad end of the center pin. now try to get it in the hole for the battery atty connector.

The air line like tube fits right in the hole actually seems to small and then when you press that center pin in which is slightly difficult but does go. It seems to push the tub into a small bundle and seems to be pretty good for a fix here. Perhaps someone would like to try this out if they can. My meter says it`s a no short item.

That's a good idea. I've got the teflon tubing & the largest I've got is 14 gauge. I think I need some of the 7 or 8 gauge to try. Is the tubing you have rubber(like a tourniquet)?
I've got to try this, I've got 4 or 5 connectors that need that little gasket.

It`s like fish tank air line but smaller. It is rather difficult to get over the pin but I did it rough with no lubricant. I did try to heat it fast with a lighter but that didn`t work.

I`m thinking if there was a size that just fit the hole then stick the center pin in would be best but finding that size might be difficult and dangerous for me if I went into my sisters mod stash you know.

I`m going to go look in there now so if you don`t hear back from me. :2c:
I got pinged

On another idea

Ok can`t find the tubing assortment for now but did come up with this possibly if you have those pipettes for mixing liquid.

I first cut it where it tapers off down to the point then tried to get the center pin into that small end piece but no luck so I went back to the place I cut it off from on the remainder of the pipette the center pin fits way loose in it..
Bent the tube over on itself and stuck it into the hole of the battery connector. Grabbed that end on the treaded side and pulled on it with needle nose pliers till it came out pretty nice and not as bent looking.
Snipped it off with scissors and then inserted the center pin into it. I kept the center pin at the end of the tube as I pulled it back through the hole till it was snug then pressed the pin as normal to sink it home. This also seems to have worked. My meter reads no ground. To look down in there it looks real good as well. I can see the pipette tube surounding the the center pin on top and the bottom. Darn near looks like the bought spacer.

I see no reason this wouldn`t work but I haven`t actually completed a mod using this. Just meter tested and approved so far. If you have trouble following my direction I would be happy to get some pictures if need be.

I came home from work this morning and sensed that my mod box had been pillaged overnight...... so my intuition led me directly to this thread where I learned that my brother Connman had actually confessed online that he had.... and perhaps even, albeit fearfully, bragged of doing so? :grr:

He will just have to figure out what I have done in retaliation when he wakes up.

Anyhow..... Mister D.... haven't some people been using automotive gasket sealant in place of the silicone grommet? I'm not too crazy about vaping that though. You could also think of doing what MadVapes website came up with back before connectors were available.... use a tube and brad nail?

And... I think my brother was referring to the tubing cut off from a nasal cannula oxygen hose.

I use silicone tubing I got from a hobby shop they use for R/C fuel line and it works great. I enlarge the hole in the connector slightly...but not bigger than the center post!...and slide the hose up over the post to where it starts to flare out around the contact..then lube it with a bit of VG or PG and push it in to the connector and trim the flare if needed. Remember it has to insulate from the side and downward also.

Connman....It was nice knowing ya buddy!!:danger:

OMG!!! Thank you so much for that link Dreams... that is so awesome. I'm going to make mine myself from now on as long as I can find all those parts. Can you get those brass shoulder spacer things at the hardware store?
