After leaving the cigarette world behind a year and a half ago and venturing into the world o' vapes I have learned many things (thanks to this forum!). Starting with ego's and Vivi tanks, building atty heads, upgrading to Protanks, upgrading to the Vamo, making my own coils and juices and Now I have arrived at the Kayfun Lite tank. I love it. I have found my forever tank (for me). Now my question. I want a PV that is rugged, something that will stand the test of time, something VW/VV, takes 18650's (or similar) and something that can take a few drops. Does such a device exist? When will manufactures start making a more rugged PV product? I do construction work and would love to have a product I can carry in my pocket that I am not afraid will break at the first bump. For me ideally a PV could hold a tank inside it's housing with only the drip tip sticking out. I could pull the drip tip, close a dust cover and throw the thing in pocket with no worries. maybe a diamond plate housing or something similar to and Otterbox phone case? Am I off on a tangent here or do durable products like this exist? I would gladly spend big $ on a PV if I knew it would stand the test of time

Good timing on your question, as I just ran across a reference to a ruggedized type device that bears a lot of resemblance to the MVP - e-lvt.

Outside of the "water-proofness", it does appear to have a strong case, both internally & the external padding.

You won't find a more rugged & durable variable voltage mod than a Provari. Why Provari?
They have been dropped from moving motorcycles, fallen off one story ledges onto concrete, dropped in swimming pools, rivers, and washing machines and kept on vaping. The only thing which has destroyed a Provari was a lawnmower, but the chip survived and was put into another tube by Provape.
One year warranty. Repair service for life at owner's cost after warranty for reasonable fee.
The Provari is available in a new gold or gunmetal Zencoat finish, which is not quite as hard as diamonds for even more durabilty.
With the optional battery extension cap ($25), the standard size Provari will accept an AW 18650 IMR battery. A Provari/Kayfun combo absolutely rocks.

The Reo, Innokin VTR, BilletBox, E-LVT come to mind for durability and compactness.
I work construction myself and surf fish for multiple days at a time , i needed a very long lasting device with seemingly endless battery longevity since i am often no where near anything to charge it with.
Only thing within budget was the MVP and it's held up great to multiple drops, bangs, hits , beatings (you get the picture) and not a single time has it come close to running out of vaping power.
Do i wish it had a replaceable battery , absolutely, but many have had theirs for over a year and it's still going strong. Do not pay over $40.00 for it though, if you have more $$ listen to the Bad man , he knows what he's talking about.

My suggestions would be the Reo or VTR, based on your recessed tank requirement.

My VTR is in the shop, they are kind of delicate in ways, the threads are easily stripped I think but may have been a bad tank. I am in the same situation as the construction guy and nothing I've found protects clearomizer tanks as well as the VTR.
My provari seems easier on coils and holds up to abuse better but for the life of me I can't find a hard case that will hold it and a clearomizer like the aerotank, that would be ideal.
