I'm running out of coils and can not
find anyone selling the kind of coils I've been using for my Protank 2 and Istick 20w. A near by shop has Smok Bottom Coils. Just wanted to know if they would fit my Protank? Was also wondering about ways to clean coils once they taste burnt, thanks for the help.
Actually, I can find people selling the coils I normally get, but they are more expensive than usual.

If its a regular protank or PT2 then I would simply rebuild them. You can find videos on u tube for it they are pretty simple to rebuild and you will get a much more satisfying vape out of that tank. If you prefer the factory coils then check the vendors tab here on ecf and you will find a wide variety of folks selling the PT coils, fairly cheap too. Also if your coils start to taste burnt you can pop the metal top off of the coil and replace the little flavor wicks on top, that will temporarily fix that burnt taste.

It is a Protank 2, do you know if the Smok bottom coils would fit it? If they do I'm most likely gonna go pick some up, if not, then I'll look at the vendors, thanks!

You know anywhere I can find them for sale they look very similar to the factory kanger coils but I cant find anything that says they will absolutely work with the PT. I would probably play it safe and get the actual kanger heads that way you know they will work and you don't get stuck with something that doesn't work and cant get your money back for ya know?

Hi, You can look online .....there are quite a few vendors that are selling them. I carry them at my store. You can use the Kanger Evod Protank Coils in them at a 1.5 or a 1.8. Or you can use the knock offs they can be found on ebay as well. Rebuilding is a pain.

Good Luck,

Only thing I noticed was the knock off kanger heads don't taste right, for lack of a better description, lol. I bought a couple of them froma local store and juice I had before and knew tasted good tasted awful with the cheap kanger heads...I put a real kanger head in and bang flavor was right back where it aught to be...just my thoughts

Discount Vapers has PT2 heads for $6 a five pack, and as of this post, 898 packs of the 1.8 ohm heads in stock.

Kanger ProTank & Evod Coil Replacement **5 Pack - 1.8ohms

Edited to add:

FastTech has heads for $5 a pack, but I have been lead to believe that their failure rate is a tad high.

I used the Protank 2 for about a year+ before I switched to the Nautilus. I also used to rebuild my protank coils using organic cotton and kanthal wire. Much cheaper, and they typically lasted a lot longer too! Was kind of frustrating at first, but after a couple hours of trial and error I was able to make coils for my Protank from there on out!

Edit: There are also, like mentioned above, TONS of videos on Youtube to help you do this.

You can always just buy some organic cotton from wal mart or somewhere for super cheap and just recoil them. I rinse em off first to get the goop out, but then you just take the post off, use tweezers to pull out the silica from inside the coil, once it's out you dry burn it a few times and then insert the organic cotton. After you do it a couple times you can get it done in almost no time.
Just make sure you prime them by putting a couple drops of juice on the cotton before you close it back up, if they're not wet, you'll just burn away the cotton and have to start over.
good luck!
