I had to do an experiment because I've had some pretty strange perceptions as to how much I'm vaping compared to how much I was smoking. So my wife and I fired up a couple of analogs... we both agreed they tasted nasty even after only a day vaping.

She takes 12 hits to go through an analog 100, I only take 9. It takes her 7 minutes but it takes me 8. Nevertheless when vaping I only hit 7 times in 8 minutes. On average my drags last 2 seconds on both analog and e-cig. I also appear to get 44 hits per cartridge before I need to top it off again.

Until yesterday I was smoking about 50 analogs each day and taking about 450 hits to do it.

I learned something from all those numbers, if it weren't for refill juice it would cost more money to vape than to smoke just based on cartridges alone, nevermind equipment costs.

There's another factor I just noticed, when I put my 510 down it's ready 15 minutes later when my hands are free again, with an analog it's burned and gone. I probably lost a pack a week from that alone.

Between this and the battery numbers I ran earlier today I've realized my perceptions were wildly skewed, the cartridges and batteries are lasting longer than it feels like... and all things considered I'm gonna save a PANTSLOAD of money.

Yeah, and I think most people when they start vaping tend to do a LOT of it, taking a lot more hits per hour than when you were smoking analogs. I think it's a normal part of breaking the analog addiction. I can only speak for myself, but I no longer vape like my life depends on it...which is what I was doing when I first started! haahaaa

BoredoftheWorld, are you an accountant? :p If not, you've missed your true calling! You're a fantastic number cruncher. I've actually tried to do what you did and got so frustrated I gave up. I would forget that I was counting puffs halfway through a cigarette or forget what number I was on when I was vaping. Ok, I'm easily distracted.

I'll admit numbers are not my strong point so I'm really grateful for people like you who have a talent for it! Great info!

My math is a little bit more broadly based. I was going to spend ~$2,500 this year on cigarettes. So far, I've spent ~$1,500 on e-cigs, juice and spare parts. I now have ~2 years worth of juice and spare parts. My savings is ~$3,500 over two years. And every time I leave the grocery store without a carton of cigarettes I feel great. Not to mention the trips to the grocery store specifically for cigarettes that I am no longer taking. Come to think of it, I could factor in the gas savings as well, but I'm too lazy.

Or I can look at it this way:

One electronic cigarette - $40

One 30ml bottle of liquid - $9.00

None of my money going to Phillip Morris or Glaxo Smith Kline - Priceless

I don't consider the numbers. If vaping became twice as expensive as analogs, I still wouldn't go back.

according to my sig I've saved, but i haven't lol. like most of us, the initial startup costs of e-cigs boost that figure by quite a bit. once you have parts then juice is the only factor.

we homerolled our analogs for the past 12 yrs. about .90 a pack, so no savings there, but i could never go back.

i even blasted the back of my throat with some hot atomizer juice yesterday and am barely vaping until it heals = i still won't go back. when i can't shake the desire for an analog I pop a piece of nicorette in my mouth and it kills the urge much quicker than the e-cig, so that gets me back on track.

There's really not much to worry about in that area. Too much competition. And when all else fails, we still have the Chinese.

I'm glad you mentioned the Chinese... I haven't been sure how or where to ask about that. I've noticed that the prices from overseas distributors are dramatically lower across the board, particularly on liquids, are there any legitimate concerns regarding (for instance) US customs at this time?

Most - if not all - individual's orders are making it through ok - There may be customs delays and some report packages being opened and inspected as evidence from the packaging - Only a handful of distributors have not received product - There does seem to be a clamp down on high MG(36mg>) Most of the Chinese sites do not even offer it anymore stopping at 24mg - The juice from China is the exact same stuff as the US suppliers carry (except Johnson Creek made in USA) - The advantage to buying in the US is that you don't have to wonder when it will pass customs and you stimulate the US economy -

The only thing you have to wonder is why the USPS would go from New Jersey to Austin, Texas via Amarillo - - - ???? :p - I shoulda had my juice days ago - lol -

No Customs issues as of yet. I usually order 100 to 200 dollars per order, and I've had one issue last week. Chinese Customs returned one of my orders. Ruyan just reshipped it, and it arrived about 5 days late. If Chinese Customs sends an order back a second time, Ruyan will refund your money.

So, bottom line? No problems yet. I say - Go for it.

    Cheers;

That's very good news, thanks everyone... I think I'm gonna make an order for half what I normally spend on analogs at the beginning of the month, that should really stock me up.

We need some kind of multi battery charger.... something that can hold/charge five or six batteries at a time.

if you have a 510 - it's already there - PCC - You charge it up and then it charges 3 or 4 batteries up to 4 times - Looks like a cig-pack -

Do be aware that a lot of those cheap parts - are - well - cheap -
Treat them as disposable - The return shipping for any warranty exchange they may offer would negate the replacement value - Can't beat the juice deals though :)

I do have a 510 but what I'm looking for is something that can do multiple batteries at once. If I'm the only person vaping from my 510 I can JUST barely make one battery last until the second one is charged, if my wife takes a hit or if I get annoyed and need a long drag then it all falls apart. Most of the time I'm going to be a few inches from a wall charger but today I was out and about for a good 10 hours, four of those hours sitting at a swimming pool full of screaming children... if it hadn't been for that wall outlet next to me you would have been reading about it in the newspaper.

So while I'll probably grab a PCC, I need something like four of them duct taped together.

Oh yea - I don't have a 510 - Was just looking over the details on the PCC for a friend - Yea I guess I've been misreading that - I though it held 4 at a time - It just holds 1 that it can charge 4 times - WOW - not as cool as I though it was - Should hold 2 at least :( Still - It would be helpful -
