Well saying the RT way and the PB way really doesn't tell me much because they all keep changing their ways and it doesn't tell me anything really. Micro, Nano, horizontal, vertical, dual single??? They generally try other peoples ideas, then if the like it, they do a vid.
I have the full size Russian and have wicked it many ways, the silica special 8, probably the best silica build, Hybrid SS mesh with cotton core, horizontal micros, vertical mounted micros, dual horizontal micros, and my favorite is the dual series micro coil vertical mounted inverted V-twin with eternal hemp fiber wick. Smooth draw, very flavorful and wicks great at 20 watts, no dry hits, no flooding or gurgling. Been on the same build for a couple months. Just replaced the same build with the A.Mundy Magic wire, beech to build but oohmyyggoodness, it's one fine vape.
The basic build for the inverted V-twin is I use a 18 gauge blunt tip syringe needle and wrap 10 or 12 loops of 28 awg Kanthal. then at the mid point of the coil I bend it I two, making a inverted /\ . I then mount the coil bend it up and over the air intake deck, heat and pinch if necessary to set the coil and make it glow nice and even.
Then I use hemp fiber for wick, cotton will work but hemp is much better, twist it up nice and tight and thread it between the two coils. Then slightly untwist the wick to semi fluff it up. and wrap each wick tail fully around the coils ending up in the same juice deck as it started. Make sure not to cover the ends of the coil openings. I then fold the tails straight up so that I can screw down the containment ring with out getting any fiber strand caught in the threads and blocking the juice channels. Once the ring is tight, then simply tuck the tails into the juice deck with the needle, mini screw driver whatever. Saturated with juice, assemble and fill, then Vape!!
Find the inverted V build the most forgiving build to wick, never had a flooding, gurgle, or dry wick problem when using this method with cotton or hemp. It's a little more difficult to mount, but so much easier to wick and re-wick, dry burn and maintain, that the extra effort involved on the set up is well worth it, and it vapes Fraking Awesome.
I've tried other methods since developing this method, but none have proven as good so always go back to it. Did get some good flavor improvement using the Magic Mundy wire, but this wire has additional pia aspects.
