Yet Another Leaky Russian 91%

So i've been struggling for days with both my kayfun 3.1 es clone and russian 91% clone (yeah I know clone-ception) leaking out of their airhole after filling up with juice. At first with my Russian 91% I thought I was using too less wicking (cut cotton off at the base of the deck) so then I went a little overboard and put in a thick wad of cotton which seemed to stop the leaking (granted I didn't fill it up all the way either) but I think it might've been too much still since I was getting a bit of a burnt hit. After using a narrow wad of cotton, cutting it flush with the chimney, and then stuffing it down in the direction of the juice channels and filling it up all the way I found that it wasn't leaking! But lo and behold after I put it on my mod and started vaping for a bit it all flowed out of the air hole.

I've been told that I should stuff wicking into the juice channels while some others say that I shouldn't. I've already checked my o-rings and they seem to be in good shape. Whats wrong with my wicking?

Here is the coil on my Russian 91%

Thanks for any help!

If you fill from the top, you have to hold your finger over the air hole on the side of the base while filling and re-installing the top cap. There may be juice in the air hole that has to be blown out. I do that by tilting the Kayfun with the drip tip down at a slant and blowing into the drip tip while holding a paper towel over the air hole. You'll get a spot of juice in the towel and all should be well.

If you just fill through the hole in the bottom, there's no problem. Loosen the center contact screw a couple of turns and remove the collector cap, then remove the phillips screw, and fill through the hole. Replace the screw and the collector cap, tighten the center contact screw, and vape. That's the best way to fill. I haven't tried the side hole fill method outlined in the manual.

If you have leaks after filling like you explained, you may have a cut o-ring. There were also some o-rings shipped with some tanks. Contact your supplier for replacements or buy new ones from a supplier who can guarantee the right ones. If you have any air leakage around the o-rings, it's not going to be able to maintain vacuum in the tank and it will leak like a sieve.

Wicking should not cover or enter the juice channels. The wicking should touch the deck and hug the sides that lead up to the coil.

New to these?

Review my Blog and see if anything helps.

Almost all Leaks are new user error and from improper filling. Often it is NOT a leak but an over fill requiring correction and clean up of excess forced into thee air channels or wick chamber.
