Hello all, I have 2 Russian 91%'s one with a floating pin and one with the standard screw pin. I use a Hana mod 30 Watt but keep it on 7 watts all the time. Anyway, I keep getting a burnt taste after about 15 drags on both of my set ups. I have changed coils, cotton, changed all seals etc and it keeps happening on both of them. I think at this point, I am just going to sell them and stick with my nautilus. I have cleaned them both with vodka and nothing seems to work. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a shelf life for the Russians? Thanks in advance for the input.

Besides changing the o-rings, have you checked them? The seals should all be air-tight. Symptom you described sounds like a poor vacuum, which could indicate a bad seal between the top cap and the chimney.

Full disclosure: I shelved my Kayfuns a few months ago. When they're working great, they're awesome. But when they're not working correctly, troubleshooting is a PITA. You have to drain the liquid and take it completely apart to see what's going on.

Joe, you are right. At first, my Russians were awesome. Now with these problems, having to take the liquid out etc, I think I will just get another Nautilus or something similar and see what I can get for the Russians.

I use long tails which run in a curved shape from on side of the ledge above the channel to the other side, basically they lay flat above the channel.
This seals of the vacuum pretty good, and they wick really well. I use enough cotton that there's a resistance when sliding it through, but if i would dangle the base while holding the wick, it would probably slip through.

It's not easy finding the right amount, but once you get there it's a great device! Haven't had any dry hits or leaking for at least half a year =)

I may go back to a vape shop and give it another try. Thanks.
