I stuck mine onto a Maraxus clone, no kick. Works well.
I also put it onto my Innokin VTR, I like how it makes it look like a old school walkie talkie.
I ordered a couple more mechs and a kick just to play around with.
The Maraxus clone is a tank! lol, fits in with the VTR, they are both heavy!

I primarily use my Kayfuns and Russians on a Nemesis clone with an 18650/Kick2. However, I've used them on everything from a VV3 to Provari to MVP2 to Zmax with no issues. Set them up right and they work just fine on just about any battery/mod you choose.
As far as supplies go, all you need is some coil wire (I prefer 28ga) and some wick (I use cotton).
Here is a pic of a Kayfun on the Nemesis. The Russian will look very similar.

As of yet I've used my Russian 91% on my Provari, Vamo V5 and MVP. Works great on all those. I have the VTR but never stuck it on that one because you would need the adapter. Maybe I should though, Zanedog and I could talk on them!
I like my pieces to look like they were made for each other. Here's my Kayfun Lite Plus (nearly identical to the Russian) on the Nemesis.
As for batteries, I recommend high drain (20A or higher) 18650's. I run sub-ohm micro coils with 28ga kanthal and cotton wick. The flavor is outstanding on these atomizers.

I just got the Russian 91 for my Provari and it's awesome. I'm now regretting on all the money I've spent on the Protank and Nautilus and replacement coils... this will be the only tank I will ever need, and the kanthal wire/cotton for $10 will last me a life time.
A Reo Grand will be useless with a Russian. These animals don't play together. Reo is a bottomfeeder APV. Russian is a bottom coil RBA.
I just ordered the KFL+ (same as Russian) for the top of my 69 mod (side-fire with option of changing upper or lower button placement at user discretion)
I use a bottomfeeder, similar to a Reo, predominantly tho. I made my own.
