I just recoiled my russian %91 and the flavor was off so I rewicked and tried again.
Still getting an off burntish taste.
I took it all apart again, adjusted the coil, made sure it fired right and rewicked again. I'm still getting this off taste.
Will there be a big difference when I change from a heavily used coil to a fresh new one. How long before it 'breaks in'? I am using cotton.

Did you wet the cotton before burning? it might be packed too tight in the coil and choking it, or too much cotton in the sides an juice isnt wicking well.

Also did you clean the russian well, as they might have oils and dirt from manufacturing. I take it completely apart and clean in dishwashing liqid, and the boil it to make sure.

I prefer degummed hemp fiber as it has a higher burn tolerance to burning.

Good Luck and hope ya figure it out! :toast:

I think he is right. Chances are you have too much wick. You should be able to slide the wick through the coil side to side with little to no resistance from the wire. If I see bunching when I slide it I will typically take a small pinch of cotton out where it is bunching. Also, I try to vape through a full tank before I decide whether or not the wick is 100%. I have found on new wicks they do need some time to break in a little. Dont you worry we will get this straightened out and you will love your R91% again.

Of course I did :)
I have the perfect amount of cotton perfect coil. I'm no noob to the russian. It's just been awhile since I made a new coil and I'm thinking this.
Either it's just new and need to be broken in.
Or, I may have burnt the insulator when I made a double barrel nano coils. Boy was that vape hot!
