I'm questioning something here. I purchased a tank at one of the local shops in Nov. 2017. The tank was an rda it was an okay tank but I found I didn't l like dripping when out. I cleaned the tank roughly dried it went to the store. Came back and the screw was rusting. In my head I'm like wtf! Part of this is my fault I couldn't get the screw out and didn't immediately bein g it any where. Well I went to another shop recently and he asked me to bring it to him and maybe they could fix it (I think he thought it was dried juice). One look and he for sure confirmed rust too. Called shop I purchased it from and asked if he would take a look. He looks at the tank just as shocked as me but he generously changed the screw for me. Here is where my question comes in... the new screw looks clean but the surrounding area has rust residue. I asked if he would use the tank and he said yes. Would anyone use this tank? I thinking even if I scrub the rust off is it really all gone? Can't open the deck to check inside, it is not made to be opened so idk if something is rusting inside. When i shake it i can hear something jiggling inside. Had anyone else have this happen? Really bummed I forked out $40 to support a local b&m and now this.

Probably a clone. Ejuice is pretty corrosive. It makes a fairly good paint remover even. As a result equipment needs to be made out on non rusting materials, and in genuine devices cues they usually are. I would throw the thing away personally. It’s hard to know what else might be wrong with it.

Goodness. I agree with you all. What shall I do with all the wire I purchased for this tank. Here's some pics. Wish I took some before I took it to the store. I contacted company. Just to let them know my experience. I checked the website code turns out valid so idk. I never thought you check until this happened. I think this maybe my last purchase with them though.

Wire can be used in any rebuildable. IMHO rebuildables kick .... on all other types of vapes. They’re more flaexible, vape better and are vastly cheaper to operate. Don’t stop building just because you bought a bum clone

Its the mesh wire. I'm trying to not say the company name and the name is in the wires name. Lol.

Wire mesh can be used in mesh atomizers and as a very long lasting wicking. Generally in genesis style RDAs, though there have been successes in other RDAs as well.
The process is a bit involved. The mesh needs to be coated with carbon so it is non conductive. This is done by first rolling it into a wick, then heating it red hot multiple times to anneal the metal and build up a layer of soot.

Hmm. I do now remember reading the mesh betting used inside the cotton as a wick. I'm going to start researching and make an attempt once I get my normal wicking down.

Do you think it could really be a clone purchased from a store?

Found a small bottle on a local website. Might puck some up. What do I have to lose I guess.

That was my thought also, instead of trashing it right away. I don't have much experience using it on rust but I know CLR works great on calcium and lime. You can even use it to clean your drip coffee maker.

Hmm. I have a Keriug and it been giving me weak coffee lately. Might give that a try too. I'm gong to do a little googling to see how I could use it for both.

Yep. Stores sell clones too. Generally they’re a lot cheaper. The majority of clones are actually decent. There are even video reviews on various clones online. You need to pay attention to materials used and finish quality a lot more buying a clone though. Clone RDAs are generally considered the best sort of clone because they’re a lot simpler and there’s much less to mess up. Using regular steel screws in one is kind of a facepalm. It’s not one I’ve run into. My velocity RDA is a clone and it’s great. Been vaping on it all morning.

After thinking it over and talking with another member I thought it would be helpful for other people who may also have this issue or already experienced it with this tank. It's the vandy vape mesh rda.
