Hello.

One of my friends gave me the mod, but the problem is it doesn't want to charge, or even boot up when hooked up to a computer or charger, Wismec's software doesn't see it either.
Also, I haven't found any disassembly videos or instructions for that particular mod, the only thing that can be unscrewed is the bottom, and it doesn't really give any information on what might went wrong.
Also warranty is long gone.
Any ideas how to revive it?

PS. It did charge from time to time before, but it was kind of give or take, it started and worked one day, then stopped again.

My first suspicion is your microUSB2 connector has gone the way of the dodo. I suspect this project will not have a happy ending. Repairing them is not totally impossible but requires such things as mosfet microsoldering and desoldering. As to taking the thing apart in the first place I am afraid I am no help. Myself I would probably just recycle it.

Thanks for the response.

Well, I guess that one will have to be gone..
But I also have another mod that has a similar problem, it's the istick QC, but I'm not sure what happened to that one.

The USB port, on board charging circuitry, the built in battery one or all has failed.
You'd need fairly advanced electronics repair knowledge & equipment to attempt, even if you have the experience & equipment probably not worth the effort.

Outside chance someone downloaded the rx200 software, which turns it into a mess if it ever works again.

The weakest point on internal battery mods is generally the microUSB2 connector. It’s not always the culprit, but it’s very common. Part of the problem is that the port both can’t handle much force and has a ridiculously small insertion rating (the number of times you can plug in a cable before the port wears out)
My preventative solution is to use one of these
$4.69 TOPK Micro-USB to USB 2.0 Magnetic Charging Cable (100cm) - 2.1A current / LED light indicator / dustproof plug at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
I insert the adapter and simply leave it in place. The magnet helps ameliorate the sideways force problem.
MicroUSB2 cables wear out even faster than the ports though so it’s not impossible you have a bad cable.

The cable is definitely working, considering it works with my 2-bay charger for my other mod, but thank you for your help.
