RY4 cartos, leaky, then taste bad

Well I've stumbled upon a new problem, not really sure how to explain but I'll give it a try. 3 out of the 5 Ry4 cartos that I purchased (the cartos that were "defective, leaky") have turned about to be defective I guess. I was just puffing on one, enjoying how great it was, when all of a sudden I got a mouth full of liquid(exaggeration), and then, a really really terrible taste. Not sure what the taste is, almost burnt tasting, but it still produces quite a bit of vapor. any ideas?

Yup, had the same issue. Warranty covers, but they're out of ry4 :(

I was tracking the weight of mine, and they were no where near empty when it happened. I didn't notice any liquid in the mouth, all though I get drops from time to time on many of my bloog cartos and decided that was just part of the game, it isn't unpleasant to me. But yeah, out of the blue, burnt, dishrag, roasted urine kinda taste? I know that sounds terrible, but it's what I got. I only tasted this on 2 of the cartos, the other ry4's I've retired and am not refilling!

Well I did spin the juice out of them, I only sampled a bit out of one of them, but it wasn't too terribly tainted. Unfortunately, I didn't label the carto I filled up with that juice, and now I'm kinda worried about when i stumble across it if it did retain that funky flavor!

So far as removing normal flavor, I boiled some of the mints in 2 changes of water, flushing them with boiling water from a syringe (no needle) about 7 or 8 times. No detectable amount of mint showed up when they were refilled with non-mint flavors.

So far as trying to rescue those ry4's, I'm not going to. I know leaford thought it was just a filling issue on those, but after the funky taste I seriously doubt it. I'd have to think there was a defect in the carto itself which lead to the leaking, the stained condoms, and the funky tastes alike. So I'm suspicious of them and have no intention of trying to fix them when CS has told me they will replace them, I guess you could try boiling and flushing them though.

Well I think I'm down to one, unused cartomizer, and I feel that it would be silly to send 4 that I vaped about half of, that stopped worked, and one new one for a replacement, maybe I'll send it back, I've been happy with everything else. Just an unlucky batch I suppose, and as I was new to vaping completely i thought I was just chain vaping too quickly heh

Yeah, but it has been stated on the forum, and in emails between CS and myself that they will return them. Seems the written warranty is the minimum they are pledging to, but in most circumstances they go well beyond it. For health and sanitary reasons they can't return cartos, like hey, this dress doesn't fit, put it back on the racks and I'll get a different size, nobody wants our cartos "returned" to inventory! But throwing them in the box of "items" sent to leaford in china for investigate is totally different.

I had the same thoughts as you, but as Leaford said above, they want to make us happy. While I feel privileged to have such a wonderful device, lets not forget we did pay a premium for it. And I think that premium covers good CS, and a warranty that errs on the side of covering too much than too little.

Plus, if Leaford says to return them, then return them!! Doesn't matter what it says on the website if "the man" says he'll take them back.

I actually just had my first bad one this evening. I was so bummed!!! I was saving it and saving it since it was my last one and there's none in stock. And I got about 15 mins of vape out of it. Waaaaaaaaaaaa! :cry: But in the bigger picture, 1 out of 50 isn't bad.

And I think the no return policy on cartomizers is mostly directed at people buying a 25 Pack of a particular flavor only to decide that they actually hate the Cherry.

It is an entirely different matter when the cartos are defective.
