Vapor isn't tasting right

I'm new to vaping (3 weeks) and before I got my Bloog yesterday, I'd been using 306 cartos on a Blu battery. Lots of work, but I got okay vapor and pretty good taste.

With my Bloog, it produces incredible vapor but almost no taste after the first couple puffs. When I first use a fresh carto, the taste is plastic-y and bad, on both the blanks and the prefilled. It's gotten better with refilling (I take off the cap and drip down the side) - the plastic taste is gone - but I'm still getting hardly any taste compared to my 306 set-up. I've tried taking smaller, gentler puffs, and that helps a bit.

I have the 2.4-2.6 Ohm cartos. I'm using multiple flavors of BWB, which is 70/30 PG/VG.

Any suggestions?

Hi Blithenihilist, I haven't had any other reports of plasticy tasting cartos, and my samples tasted fine. It could be you are sensitive to some underlying taste of the polyfill itself. Just speculating though. Has anyine else noticed a plasticy taste to the latest batch?

As for your liquid's flavor, that also surprises me. The chimney-like design concentrates the heat, making for hotter vapor, and hotter vapor tends to carry the flavor better.

I have NOT experienced any "plasticy" or bad taste with the MF cartos. I haven't even experienced the "burnt" taste that others have discussed. The Bloog grape and menthol cartos I have tried have had good strong flavors. I can't wait to try the watermelon.

When I got my MaxX Fusion kit I chose RY4 to come with it, while the flavor was not what I expected, (and I can't really say why because this was the first RY4 I had tried) it was not plastic like at all. The flavor was consistent throughout and it grew on me quite quickly. I ended up really liking it and went through the pack faster than expected. While waiting on another order I re filled carts wit a different tobacco flavor and got very good results excellent vapor production even after several re fills and top offs. Never any burnt of plastic taste.

Yeah, that's what it tasted like to me...dry polyfill or something. It happened right away, when I could see liquid still in there. That part went away after 4 or 5 refills/top-offs.

It seems like the hotter it gets, the more the taste goes away. When I put it down for a while, the taste is a little stronger. It is getting better; maybe it's getting more saturated now. I tried putting some juice down the very center, being careful to let it set and clear out any excess liquid before using it, and that seemed to help also.

I'm still enjoying it waaay more than my first cig. Just wish I knew what I'm doing wrong.

P.S. The prefill I have is Apple.

Okay, so the flavor has gotten pretty darn good. Seems there was a break-in period for the cartos I got.

My roommate got his Bloog today (1st e-cig ever!) - I tried his Kamel, and it tasted great. But, I forgot warn him not to pull on it like an analog, and he got so much vapor he was coughing...lol.

Remind him what it was like when he started smoking for the first time. That should put it into perspective. Vaping emulates smoking, but it is still different, and your body, especially your lungs and throat will take a couple days or so to adjust.
