I've been vaping RY4 pretty much since I started DIY/filling my own cartos and strictly from FSUSA. I've gone to other flavors but bleh... so I've ordered several bottles of RY4 - and a couple days ago I realized my 60ml bottle is near empty. The 60ml is dated 3/17/11, and the one I just received is dated 4/7/11. Both the same exact strength - same ratio, etc... but they both taste EXTREMELY different. The RY4 dated 4/7/11 is also nearly pitch black, but all the other bottles of RY4 I've ordered were a dark brown. Now the kicker... while my older RY4 tastes fantastic - like RY4 should (nutty w/ caramel undertones) but the one I just received today tastes exactly like maple syrup.

Has the recipe changed? Cross contamination from mixing without thoroughly cleaning equipment? I'm just curious... but this is nothing like RY4 that I have ordered from FSUSA... :(

The really bad part is this is the only thing I can vape. My tongue just doesn't want to take to vaping but the RY4 is the one flavor I actually love. It has kept me off of analogs. Sigh...

Loft, I have had the exact same experience that you have had. Ive been vaping fsusa RY4 for 4 months now and have a very good judge on its taste. This is also the only juice i can vape. I ordered 60ml of RY4 the other day recieved it and its almost twice as liquidy or thin and alot darker with quite a bit of taste difference. I emailed david right away but havent heard back yet. it just seems so different that its got to be a recipie change or ingredient change.
Somthing had to change because its noticably different. Thought i was the only one until i looked on here to see u.....cant be a coincidence. My bottle date is 4/6/11. Let me know if u find somthing out.

my2hands: I haven't found anything out yet, other than what I've posted here. Honestly, I don't know what this is but it is nothing like any RY4 I have tried from anywhere. I've left it uncapped, steeping, for a long time now and it just doesn't seem to be improving. I think I'm going to have to send it back because I can't vape this.

I decided to use it as a mixer because I never have the time to go to the post office. I ordered more Ry4 w/ Menthol and it's different than the bottle this thread is about, but also not the same as the first bottle. I'm just gonna vape it when I can and try to find a new flavor because it's all weird to me now.

The same thing happened to me back in October. The RY4 I received in October tasted different from the bottle I received in September. I emailed David and Pam, told them of the problem, and received the same type of response. So, back then, I started making my own RY4 using Flavourart flavorings (Caramel, Dark Vapure, and Vanilla Classic, plus I added Apple, Nut Mix, and Chocolate) from (name of company removed by Elphaba13). Figured out a formula that has worked well for me ever since, it's much, much cheaper, and I'll never have to buy pre-mixed e-liquid again.

folks learning to diy is always a good thing. we have all the ingredients needed to make your own recipes and we applaud those trying to do so. Our ingredients are the finest that can be purchased. the purest and most clean. we may not be the cheapest but that is due to the high costs of our fine ingredients. you can find recipes all over the ecf forum for creating your own juices and pam and I always agreed folks should try taking their hand at making their own juices whenever possible. In the meantime we will continue to create the finest juices you can buy with the highest quality anywhere :)

Not me David. I don't think I'll ever be game to try DIY. I am, after all, the woman who broke a brand new cartomizer (much to TT's shock and amazement)! I know it would save me money, but I'll leave the DIY to those smarter than me, and I'll just keep buying pre-mixed juice. It's safer for everyone.
