I purchased a NEW Saber Touch 3.7v/6v "Steampunk", from the discount section of Vapor Moon. I recieved it Friday and have yet to get it to work as advertised. Yes I have an email into Vapor Moon, sent it Firday evening, yet to hear back, undertsnadable because of the weekend.

The following is an outline of the things I have done to get this unit to work.

HARDWARE:
batteries I have tried ( please note all fully charged and tested to be good):

4- different brand NEW AW IMR 18650 2000mah ---yes the real ones
6- different NEW 18650 Trustfire Flames 3000mah
4 -Vapage 18650 batteries pretty new charged 3-4 times.
2-Ultrafire NEW 18650 3000mah
2-Ultrafire 18650 2400mah-charged once

I also tried adding battery spacers thinking maybe the batteries are not making good contact-NO GO

I did make sure center pin is making contact on all attys and cartos also put meter in between PV and attys and cartos:
Attomizers:
Joye 510 LR
Joye 306 LR
Madvapes 306 lr
Joye 510 SR

Cartomizers:
Boge 2.o
Smoktech Resurectors
Joye 510 SR

I do have a Meter and tested all the above setups, both on the Saber and another PV, they all work on the NON-Saber PV!!

Tried metal drip tips both Stainless and aluminum!

The following NON hardware things I tried, PLEASE NOTE, I keep my hands very nice and moisturized almost to the point of being clammy, I HATE dry skin!!!!!!! I do NOT have thick or callused hands in ANY way, I am a middle aged woman with very soft and moisturized hands.

Note the following is while touching BOTH end caps and the sensor!!

1. I thought maybe I had to much lotion on my hands, washed and dried them-NO GO Tried more lotion will work until the lotion disipates, now try hanging on to a metal pv with your hands slathered in lotion....yeah doesn't work!

2. I have tried both firing with index finger and thumb- NO GO

3. LICKED-and VERY WET finger/thumb works---YUCK! Once spit dries out NO GO

4. Metal clip from ink pen, when touched to top cap and sensor will fire.

5. Put facial moisturizer on my thumb, works until the moisturizer disipates into the skin.

6. Took apart the bottom end cap and cleaned it out to make better contact NO GO.

7. Cleaned sensor contact with a q-tip ever so slighty moistened with alcohol.-NO GO

The ONLY 2 ways my brand new Saber will work is to use a metal piece touching both the top cap and sensor or
LICKING your freakin thumb/finger every vape, this is absoloutly unacceptable to me for an expensive item!!! Having nicely moisturized hands is not enough to fire this pv, it in fact has to be WET!!

The Vapor Moon website states "MOISTEN" as in moisturized NOT LICK as in WET!!!!

I am almost 2 months off of analogs, and trying to get this pv (which I was very excited about) to work has almost pushed me to go back to analogs, I am so stressed out about the money wasted! I now have to explain to my husband, when he comes home from work tomorrow nite, about the money wasted and see if he can install a button as it will NOT work as is.

PLEASE NOTE!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!For those considering a Saber Touch, please read the fine print about the return policy! You will loose 30% of the purchase price plus you will loose the money to ship it back..... either way you loose if you get a faulty device!

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience, karmakatie. I tried a Saber Touch as my first mod and I had similar problems, then I had a friend try it and it worked fine for him. I wonder if some people just have more electricity in their bodies or something. You might want to have your husband try it to see if it will fire consistently for him.

If it works properly, you can probably get most of your money back by selling it in the ECF classifieds. Saber Touch mods are pretty popular. Good luck!!!

Did you figure it out or getting it replaced. Thinking of getting a saber touch VV and curious if you got it to work. I have naturally sweaty hands think it will work for me?

Yes, it will work for you and even if there is a problem, Sir Lawrence will fix it. I am living proof of this. And it has a 5 year warranty

Cool thanks. I am hearing conflicting things but I might take the leap. The vv has the highest amp switch out there 5 amp but I see some people unhappy. But it is good to hear that the mod has promise. Did you get the vv pass through? Thanks for the feed back.

No I bought a Limited Edition Shiny 6 turned lined 5v regulated about 6 to 8 months ago, it's no longer offered in the Limited Edition page so I will take a pic. I added the GlowInTheDark coat because if not the high grade Aircraft Aluminium would tarnish ever week or so, and that's why I used the GITD coat. When he fixed mine it was only cosmetic and not a technical issue. That's why I feel if he would fix mine over a cosmetic issue, he would definitely fix it over a technical issue.

It is just 90 days with one execption for VV units :(
"The Saber Touch has the best quality parts available. Our Unique Touch Switch will last a Lifetime. But now, a Potentiometer (adjustment) has been introduced into the circuitry. Unlike our unsurpassed Touch Switch, all Potentiometers, like regular Push Button Switches, do have a lifespan. We can Warrant the Saber Touch VariVolt for 90 Days from the time of purchase. Over adjusting can shorten the life span of the potentiometer. But, proper care and limited use of the adjustment can make your Saber Touch VV last for a very long time. If in the event the potentiometer fails under Normal Use & Proper Care, we will replace the unit for you. This will be at our discretion. Since the device is totally sealed, it needs to be replaced. The warranty will then be extended for another 90 Days when you receive your new device. After your 90 Day Warranty period, you can purchase a replacement warranty for $39 ONLY by emailing us. This will be good for a one time use and extends the warranty for another 90 Days on the new unit you receive. "
90 days with a 40 buck exchange once after that is not enough for me :( Guess I will continue my look else where. Still interested in seeing what your unit looks like. Thanks for the help.

Well, with the limited warranty on the vv maybe means you should get a different vv but if your looking for a solid Mod, IMO the 5v regulated with 3.0 ohm or 3.2 ohm Carto's, 510's, 901's etc works really well. Ok, he is mine.

Wow. It looks great. That is one good looking mod how is the glow in the dark on it. I do juice reviews so I need a dependable VV. I sold my darwin (which I regret) :( and looking for a more high powered VV. The MadVapes box is no looker but it is cheap. They have great customer service. But I have bad luck with mod and I am sent it back for the second time since I got it :( I am no saber touch hater I am following this negative review and this positive review and some other thread.
I just have really bad luck with mods and to get another mod with out a couple year warrantee is not the best thing. I might get a fixed volt saber touch with a vv pass through. Or I might just wait for the GGVV or the Smok VV :)
That is a cool looking mod Desiderata thanks.

Wow, a GGvv??? Haven't heard of that until now. Any link to a pic of how it might look and the cost? The first time I heard of the GG brand was when the TS was coming out and it was on preorder and it was around $235 or higher. I couldn't afford it at the time, also wanted the Provari at this same time, but couldn't afford that one either at that time and bought what you see above as it was around $150. I was looking for my first real Mod at that time because before that I was on a penstyle brand and then bought the Sparki SP3 Mod and was sadly disappointed. Now the GG brand just doubles and triples in price on classifieds, I would like just one for when I would be out and about at fancy places.

As far as the glow in the dark. Mine doesn't look like a glowstick at a Rave at all. It's rather faint and I think it looks cooler that way.

You know a lot about juices. I am going to have to give that link a real read through later today and learn some stuff because at first glance it was already over my head. Looks like a nice site too. :)

For the GG VV just been reading about it on some threads in the GG section in the forum. It is probably going to cost alot. But it is supposed to be "revolutionary". So it might have a 10 amp switch or it might have a 1.5 amp switch that is "special" at this point I don't know. I have used a GG not sure if I like the button placements but it is a solid mod. It will probably be expensive. But depending on the specks it might be worth it.
That is a cool looking mod. Is it really heavy?
Thanks for the juice review comment. I just try my best but everyone taste ejuices differently. What do you think of my current favorite ejuices? Anyway thanks for the cool pic. :)

I hear that the Saber VV will start being warranted for a year now, He has not had a chance to change it up on his site.

Sir Lawrence stands behind his Sabers 100% when you buy from him, or a Saber distributor. Each Saber gets 2 full days of testing before they are shipped, most problems I have seen are from user error, and even then Sir Lawrence takes care of it just because that's the way he rolls. You have to see what Vapers do to their Mods, over tighten the attys down, put in bats the wrong way, put Noalox on their connectors, all user error which will short out your Mods. I have some Sabers over 2 years that work excellent.
