Hello everyone,

I'm getting ready for work this morning and knock my 4 month old Woodvil on the floor. I was furious as it laid there almost split in 2. It still works like a champ. I did have to put 2 rubber bands around it to hold it together. I'll use it like this until I can figure out a solution or buy a new one....maybe a mini woodvil :2cool:

Pics of the carnage...

I'm sure once it's glue back it'll be fine. It's been performing great (as usual) with it rubber banded all day.

Yikes, sorry to hear/see that :(

Just which wood was that body if you don't mind ???

My cocobolo feels like you could hit it with a sledge hammer and it would hold together.

BH - it's purpleheart/curlymaple. This wasn't the first time it's fallen on the ground. This time however, I think it hit the hard tile floor at just the right spot to split.

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
Ok get both sides of the wood damp with water use the gorilla glue sparingly as it dries it will bubble out expand so make sure it is well clamped rubber banded together if you are able to babysit it as it cures regularly wipe away the excess with a damp cloth. If it's well held together it won't barely show with a refinish it's quite possible you won't even be able to tell. Good luck with it.

Oh no!

I happened to drop (read: Accidentally threw) my mini on the asphalt today and mine now has part of the metal scuffed up. :( Oh well... I'd be a liar if I didn't say I am not a total klutz.

I also used to do some wood work and found gorilla glue works wonders. (Though you need to be sure to not use too much and to wipe away any excess glue that comes through the crack or it will not end up pretty. :p)

Best of luck!
