Why wouldn't the Ali operate at a true 3.7v?
If you put the same 3.7v 18650 batt in an ali and reo they should hit the same.
Regardless, anything that Rob (REO) puts out is pretty much guaranteed to be great.
I'm just not feeling the wood boxes anymore.
IMO the GRANDE is the Ultimate Bottom Feeder.

I have not tried an Ali....I'm sure its a fantastic vape...but I'll tell you why I havent gotten one so far... I'm afraid I will drop it...and from the design, I don't think it would take well to being dropped a few times. I'm very clumsyish, due to having RA since i was 30.....so i have to go with something durable that might slip from my hands. The Reo mods can be dropped ( tested many times ) and not be harmed, they always work. I'm a bit more careful with the Woodvil, but I have dropped it once...and yes, it works beautifully.
I've heard lots of wonderful things about the Ali....and this is the only reason I havent tried one. I would break it within a weeks time.

Great review, Clumsy! Looks like you're using a LR 510 but these are available with an 801 connector, right? I love my Gold/black Reo Grand and the other day wild-eyed empathy led me to offer to loan it to someone who'd stopped vaping because she can't 't find vape satisfaction. Generous of me, right? Well... Instead I'm gonna buy a Reo to loan her if she ever takes me up on it. Seriously. I know if I get a Woodvil I'll be the same way about it and yet...must have an 801 from Rob is all I can hear in my head.

The wiring does make a difference. My Phidias mods run naturally hotter then my REOs, so I only use regular 510 attys in them. When I contacted Fono (the Phidias maker) he said he used a different wire than Robert used in the REOs, and that made the difference in the level of heat produced.

The smell of the tung oil finally went away - three weeks - and the Woodvil is now my favorite PV, replacing my other 4 REOs.
I found that setting the Woodvil out in the sun for a while, open and empty, helps clear up the tung oil smell.
Well now I'm alittle happier about choosing oak/oak. I have yet to even try my woodvil as I can't get past the smell yet.

I must be the dumbest Reonaut alive. I went to the sub forum and then the site and filled out a form for a custom Woodvil about two or three weeks ago. Since then I've seen folks getting them and I haven't had a reply. It's all good though. The impulse has passed, plus I know Rob is mega busy meeting the demand and, hopefully, converting folks to the Reonaut lifestyle so I can do without but...what's the trick?? What'd I miss?

I actually prefer my Woodvil over the mini I have and I have small hands. However, the Woodvil gives me a smoother and perfect hit off it everytime. I love it.
