Has anyone else had a problem with their saddle valve bending after punching a cartomizer with one? I guess I'm going to have to get the dremel out of storage.
I've heard of people who use a nail file and sharpen the point on the screw that goes down into the carto. Maybe that would help you. Or you might spring for a device specifically made to punch cartos.
I tried the saddle valve, and couldn't do it that way myself. I use something like this....
I found this to be MUCH easier to use than a saddle valve. But a note that you won't hear a 'pop' when you punch through the carto...atleast I don't. I have found that turning the screw 2 and 1/4th turns gets the job done nicely!
I actually hold mine up to my ear to hear it pierce the stainless. You won't hear a pop until the screw dulls a little.
I give it 3/4's of a turn after it pierces.
