I wouldn't leave them overnight on that charger. I have one but it's a backup only.

But if u have a Nitecore or a few others that I'm sure someone else well name here I can't think of them at moment. Then I say go for it. I own a Nitecore and I leave overnight and so far np. But sometimes stuff happens so do at your own risk, IMHO.

It's not a safe practice to leave batteries charging unattended in any charger. I slip mine in one of those safe charging bags if I'm leaving the room for more than a few short minutes. Also, the general ECF consensus seems to be not to trust any battery or charger with "fire" in its name. It would be very good idea to get a better charger and use the Trustfire for backup.

Efest has a new smart charger with an LCD screen, Efest Universal 2 Bay LCD Charger LUC Multi-functional Smart Charger. Use the coupon code VaporJoes11Percent. The one I had on preorder shipped yesterday.

It takes about ten days to ship from Hong Kong but you can get some excellent batteries and chargers at fast tech for amazingly low prices. Use the coupon code CPASTE13SPRING.

My Pila charger which is almost 3 years old never charges the batteries over 4.19V and never had a single hiccup/issue with batteries that were charged with this charger, also when the batteries are done charging...let them cool down before use and if ya want you can insert the battery once cooled down and press the button 3-4 times away from your face. Also, you can utilize a multimeter to check the voltage of the batteries as well.

um..im going to go against the grain here and say its fine to leave them charging over night

my reasoning is that i do this all the time and have never had an issue

and while i understand like a fire COULD happen i dont think it is very likely....it's all about risk analysis in my opinion...and the incident of battery fires is probably super low but i have no hard statistics on it...you have breakers or fuses in the house so any odd electric current activity is going to be remedied by those safety devices...as long as you dont say...have the charger near your drapes any fire is going to tend to be small and not spread

its kind of the same mindset i have at the beach...see every year some nutty reporter will come on the television and warn us that some people have been bitten by a shark at some beach wherever...and that you should take precautions and then some people will get all crazy about it and not let their kids swim in the ocean or whatever ...what this mentality misses though is that you are about 50,000 times more likely do die driving on the road to the beach than you are by shark attack

this is getting longwinded

but my analysis is that everything in life is a risk i mean who's to say some wire in your house wont come into contact with something and start a fire at any given moment...are you going to start cutting the main breaker every time you go to sleep?

it could start a fire...but will it? i doubt it

Ok so A Trust Fire is more like a NonTrust Fire? As you can see my Avatar im into Radio Control hobby for a very long time, and i know the risk of Lithium batteries, i have never got problem with LiPo's geting fire (at least by their own) but i do have a couple of LiPo safe bag that i can use and my NonTrustFire into.

Thanks for the info,, Have you seen a Lithium battery on fire? Here is one

I have done it, and I have also left them in and went to work, not intentionally, but I have not had a problem. My Trustfire has worked great for the 6 months I have had it, others don't seem to have the luck I have though.

Would I recommend it? No. I recently bought a Jetbeam i4, nice charger and highly regarded, but I still don't intentionally leave batteries in it without being able to monitor it. The Trustfire stills works good, but the Jetbeam can handle four batteries at a time.

Can anyone share how long it should charge an 18350 in the Nitecore i2? Do I have to have a battery in each bay? I have one battery that I drained completely (and it was the first time using it), and it's been charging for hours with only one battery in the first bay. It does not show any signs of charging, and it's cold to the touch, and just the one light lit up. I'm confused.....

Edit, I just changed the battery to the 2nd bay and it's showing fully charged???? Now I am doubly confused.

2nd Edit: put the battery in my Vamo and it's working! Why did the charger only show one light on the first bay?

Wow some of you are very cautious. I only use good to excellent quality chargers. I've never had one charge a LiPo over 4.21v. Usually just 4.2 but my older Turnigy charger would sometimes go to 4.21v. I've retired that charger and it's only used for parallel charging mass quantities of LiPo's these days.

I would say with most newer chargers that you pay over $25 for that it will shut off at 4.2v and you shouldn't have to worry about it overcharging your batteries. If you are using IMR batteries then it's a moot point. It is possible for them to have a high than normal amount of nickle in them and be able to be overcharged but if you are running AW IMR's then you are safe no matter what charger you use. I have both AW IMR's and Sammy ICR's and I like the ICR's better personally. BTW I have a Xtar VP1 charger for my Vaping batteries and it resides beside my bed next to my vape box. I'll throw in batteries before I go to bed and take them out when I get up. Since I allow them to charge overnight I only charge at .5A. Only reason I have it next to my bed is so I remember to pull the batteries off in the morning and not leave them on there for several days. No reason to leave them on there to long.
