Safe to use these batteries with a kick in a mechanical?

Thanks. That's what I figured. Fortunately I do have some old imrs lying around but it would have been nice to use the higher capacity pannys.
What about in a mechanical without a kick? I've been using vv and vw devices for a year and a half and just ordered a mechanical.

The Panny NCR18650PD's (pf's are just a new version) are 2900mah so you'll get some vape time out of them. They work fine kicked and have are rated for 10 amps.

As for the second question, what are you using on top and what mechanical? Also, what ohms and voltage are you using now?

I'm not a believer in one thing is the best for everybody so I couldn't tell you without knowing that. Also, your atties change and it's a whole new ballgame. I have a kick 2 but I generally don't use it. It's nice for some things at some times but I have my builds all tailored to unregulated vaping. That said, I do use it at times for a few different reaons.
