How safe are lithium batteries? I'm using an eGo One Mega, no mods, I don't rebuild the coils. I use Their CLR heads but I just toss them when I need to use a new one. I only use their equipment. Being new to this site, this may post twice. I've been analog free for 6 months and using the joyetech ego one Mega, love it. On very rare occasions you here that nasty phrase "thermal runaway" and boom. I'd like to hear from the pros/vets. I use the ego one Mega as they recommend and only their equipment for it. I know they have protection circuitry and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, just want to hear it from the Vets. Thanks for your time.

Specifically I don't have an answer for you, as I stick to regulated mods only. I did use the above guidance for reference in buying my 18650's. I'm pretty certain there will be a few more members in to reply.

Good luck and enjoy the vape journey.

You are safe using that setup properly.

Battery features:
  • 510 threading connection
  • 5 times click to turn ON/OFF
  • Micro-USB charging port (when fully charged, the button light will go out)
  • Short circuit protection
  • 15 seconds time limit protection
  • Low voltage (<3.3V) protection
  • Resistance check: When the output > 5 Ohm, the light flashes slowly if you press the button; when < 0.3 Ohm, the light flashes quickly for 5 times
  • Battery indicator function: 60%-100% (light steady on), 30%-59% (slowly flashes), 10%-29% (moderately flashes), 0-9% (flashes in frequency)
However, here are some safety guidelines I like to follow when charging any internal battery:
  • Always use the charger that comes with the battery.
  • Plug the usb into a wall wart. Plugging it into your computers usb port takes the battery much longer to charge and if the batteries protection fails you could risk blowing your computers motherboard.
  • Don't leave the battery charging when someone is not around to unplug it when it is done charging. I also do not charge it overnight for the same reason.

Thank you. I do everything you listed. I watch them when charging and as soon as the light goes out I unplug it.
