'sale5' coupon code not working

hi; i received an e-mail that you are having a sale and i can receive 5% off my entire order with the coupon code 'sale5'. i entered this several times and it would not take it. i am not combining it with anything else so i am not sure what the problem is. thanks for helping me with this.

yes the sale starts on the date that was listed in the email we sent out it will go for a week
