Hello ALL!
WOW!!! What a GREAT forum! It took some searching but I finally found "you"!
The Basics; My wife & I were life long (40+ years) tobacco smokers but when a carton hit $100 here in Alaska, it was time to QUIT!!! We started out with the "Blu +" system a little over a month ago, got EXTREMELY frustrated with consistency, battery life and leakage and nearly went back to "real cigs"! That lead us to some more "in depth" on line research and the realization that technology has come a LONG WAY!
We ended up purchasing Kangertech Subvods (His: S.S. Hers: Matte Black) just before Valentine's Day 2016 and have been 100% tobacco free since (yeah!). Obviously, we've been very pleased with the performance with the Kangers (other than battery life since we are HEAVY (former) smokers and we work 'em pretty hard, ha, ha!)
As for "juice", I started out with Omega Hendershot (a Graham / Tobacco flavor @ 18% Nic.) and have switched to Two Peas, Black Honey Tobacco (already down to 9% Nic., a 50/50 blend of 18 mg. & 0 mg.). She prefers "Banana Bomb" by N.W.V. (also @ 9% Nic.).
HOWEVER(!) that lead us to the realization that while the retail cost of "Juice" is a mere fraction of tobacco, the availability (which is why I was force to change from Hendershot (which I LOVE!) to BHT) and the consistency issues of commercial manufacturers along with the cost over "Home Made" lead me to jump in with both feet to "DIY Juicing".
That being said, I ordered "supplies" & "ingredients", went to the "E-Juice Calculator" sites, checked out other peoples "recipes" and realized just how many "recipes" there are out there! None of which were coming up with the end flavors I/We are interested in attaining. Worse yet, VERY FEW sites have actual "reviews" of the end product, leaving one to wonder, "Is this recipe even ANY GOOD???". Then there's "Steep Time" to consider, ratios of "flavor "A" to "flavor "B", total percentage of "flavors", are certain flavors stronger / "more dominant" than others (and how should this be taken into consideration when creating a "recipe").
Long story bearable, that's what lead me HERE. I hope I haven't drifted TOO FAR O.T. already. ( I promise to try and find the appropriate threads for my questions & comments
. ) I sincerely appreciate being allowed to participate in such an awesome forum/board with such knowledgeable, and friendly fellow "Vapers"
Kind Regards!
