ugh....ya'll are going to smack me! and I need it! here it is tuesday and I still feel crippled! I started reading about the kr808D-1. about how simple it is. let me ask this.... the joye 510. can I use carts OR cartos on it? I kinda want to try both to see which I like better. I believe there is a longer (and longer lasting) battery for it? so sorry to be such a PIA! and thanks!!

The kr808d-1 battery will last about 1 hour longer than the standard 510 battery.

the eGo (or Riva510-same thing basically) will last 6-8 hours

Here's some of the ways you can choose to use the 510 (or eGo/Riva) e-cigarette:

battery>atomizer>cart
battery>atomizer>drip tip
battery>T-atomizer>T-tank
battery>510 cartomizer
battery>eGo cartomizer (only for use with the eGo/Riva battery)
battery>510 ce2/clearomizer
battery>LR atomizer>cart (recommended only for the eGo/Riva)
battery>LR atomizer>drip tip (recommended only for the eGo/Riva)

There a LOT of other things you can add to it and ways you can use it. Also, eGo can use any 510 parts OR any eGo parts because they have the same connector.

The Kr808d-1 is a really easy system to use:

battery>cartomizer

If you want to do more with it than that, you need to buy an adapter to make it work with 510 parts or you can also use it with 901 parts just as it is.

The only part that you are stuck with when you buy your first e-cig is the battery:

..after that, you can use it with any method you like (carts/cartomizer/dripping). You can even get an adapter to use the 510 with 808 cartomizers if you like. So think about the battery first: how long do you want it to last, and is it worth having a slightly bigger one if it means it'll last all day or most of the day?

you helpful ones will be happy to know that I just spent an hour ordering!(! too bad I couldn't order everything in one place) I got some sample juices....a riva 510 and a joye 510 since I could not make a decision! so I am officially joining the vapor world :) thanks so much for putting up with my indecision!

now I am looking for some prefilled carts to tide me over while I get over my fear of refilling!

You can buy prefilled carts, but don't. They're usually not very good and won't last long anyway. Refilling cart's is really easy. Just pull it off, turn it over and drip juice into it until it looks wet but not pooled with liquid. Put it back on and vape away. Really, it's that easy.

I hope you ordered some juice, if not it's time to go shopping again.

I did order some sample (3ml) juices, about 8. plus a couple of 10ml bottles of menthols. I know I'll need to order more soon. oh, I also got 5 prefilled cartos to try. I thought the prefilled cart that came with the disposable was OK, so I was thinking I could use some of those before I tried the good flavors and got spoiled. it's kinda like dieters....if you haven't had real chocolate in a long time, then the fake stuff tastes great <G>

Don't be afraid to fill. I am a newbie too, I've been at it less than 2 weeks. I bought prefilled cartos and juice, and didn't even make it through the first day before I had to try the juice. The hardest part was getting the end off so I could refill it. :D

I just got an eGo last week and it's not nearly as large as I thought it would be. It maybe about the size of a Sharpie and it must not be too heavy because I can't seem to put it down. The carts don't last as long as I would like, but it's good vaping until they're done( I use the HighPing mod.) I'd like to try the tank and tank atty for it as it'd be a longer time between refills. I do have some XL Clearomizers for it (2.4 -2.6 ohms); they burn a little hot for my taste (I'd try a higher resistance one) but they do last quite a while.

I've used cartos on a nJoy Pro (RN4081). They're good for no hassle vaping, not much fiddling around with stuff, but it was really only those first 4 or 5 drags that were great and then it was just ok, tapering off until it was time to refill. They were easy to refill as long as you have the right cartos for it.

I'll second that. Plus, my experience was that the longer I owned my 510, the less time it took before I needed to recharge... really became a hassle. One of the things that I love about vaping is that the constant planning that I had to do when I smoked is greatly reduced;

remember this:

do I have a lighter?
do I have a backup lighter?
how many are in my pack?
do I have a spare pack?
how much time do I have to smoke?
will I have time to smoke before the event?
will I be able to smoke when I get there?
can I smoke after?
can I smoke inside when I get there?
etc...etc...etc....

well, with vaping much of that stress is gone.. you can vape here, there, everywhere, now, later, whenever... the last thing I needed was to start out by worrying about my batteries (is it charged? when did I charge this one? do I have a spare? will I need two spares? is there an outlet where I'm going? will they let me use an outlet at the restaurant? etc...etc...etc..)

My (longwinded) explanation comes down to this: if you smoke more than 1/2 a pack a day, you'll probably want a larger battery than the 510 or kr808d-1 can offer.

That's my $0.02

Good Luck, whatever you choose! :)

This is sooooo true. I wish I would have followed this advice from the getgo. Would have saved me tons of $$$. Now I have an Ego 900Mah battery and I LOVE IT!!!!! Good luck on whatever you decide on!!!!!

I have the EGO and I can't seem to use the battery up :) I bought a kit of 2 of the Joye Ego from Liberty Flights and I vape all day every day.... have never had a battery die yet, I vaped on one battery for 48 hrs ( minus the 8hrs I slept) It's nuts.
I dont use the carts, I direct drip, so I just leave with my Ego and my little bottles of juice and I am good for the whole day...
