Has anyone else noticed this?

I just received a couple more sets and put them in my V3 and no fire at all. Put them into my Xhaler and worked fine.

Come to find out, the positive nipple on the new ones are shorter. Short enough to not make contact in the V3. I guess the only solution on this is to get another washer and stack it on the original on the button assembly.

is the one on the right brand new? it's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like it's swollen and out of round a bit.

if they're new, it's quite possible that the dimensions vary, some more than others, from one to the next. if those are the batts that you like then yeah, best thing to do is grab a couple washers to use them in the V3, otherwise grab some AW LiFePO4 batteries for better consistency in size and construction and also the drain rate to routinely handle the amp draw of your atomizer.

Yes, the one on the right.

I just picked up a pack of M8 stainless flat washers and put it on top of the other and it worked fine. It does reduce the throw with the older batteries, but still works fine, mission accomplished.
