Ahlusion has arrived! All bottles were opened and allowed to air for an hour, then closed and shaken before being put into tanks. Tested on a Vision Spinner II with Kanger Evod 2's, all liquids 12mg at 50/50 PG/VG.

Boba Tea - This one is very subtle. I like the hint of sweetness without it being overpowering. Having never tasted actual boba tea, I can't comment on how close it is to the real thing, but this vapes nicely and would be a good choice to fill your tank for a road trip or long session at the desk. The flavor kind of sneaks up on you rather than punching you in the face, and doesn't linger like a lot of the sweeter flavors I've tried. It can be overpowered by stronger tastes if you're pairing it with your morning cuppa joe or eating, but overall a very agreeable vape.

after reading this review i think i'm gonna order this one now. my current favorite flavor is Zen Peach Tea by Apollo. your review of Boba Tea is basically all the reasons i like the Zen Peach Tea, and i've been searching for a juice with similar qualities. hope this is it! thanks for the review.

Here's hoping I don't steer you wrong! I am a huge fan of nearly everything I've bought from Ahlusion, and the Boba Tea especially gets better and better as it rests. Try it FOOB, and then give it a couple of weeks; it'll be a completely different experience.

Six new flavors from Ahlusion!!!

I won't belabor the service/packaging issues; Ahlusion is two thumbs-up across the board here. Responses are fast, communications are proactive, the product is professionally and attractively packaged and securely shipped. Price is $0.53/mL when you buy in 30mL quantities. This company is very, very well run.

Flavors:

Mojito Cubano: I was nervous about this one; mojitos are a mix of rather delicate notes with a couple that can be absolutely overpowering. Anyone who has gotten a mojito at a chain restaurant, made by an assembly-line bartender, knows this all too well. The verdict? The Ahlusion folks, as always, nailed it. The mint comes in first, with a layer of almost 'grainy' sweetness, as if you'd taken a sip from a sugared rim. Then the sweeter notes mix with an effervescence I have come to expect from Ahlusion, and Ahlusion ONLY, in soda-based mixes. I don't get the 'tang' of rum, but they also didn't go heavy-handed with a liquor note, letting the sweetness come in as if it was from a really high-end white rum. Two thumbs up, this liquid BEGS to be vaped outside on a warm day, relaxing with friends.

Ahlusion Mocha: Once again, they hit 'subtle' right on the nose. Instead of going heavy-handed with one of their darker roast coffee flavors and then throwing in a double-handful of cocoa mix (think Starbucks' mocha, with that sludge of cocoa powder that ends up on the bottom), this is more like they took their light french roast and melted a couple of medallions of really rich milk chocolate into it. I am super-excited for this flavor in the cooler months, I think it would be perfect in front of a fireplace or with my morning cuppa as I stand outside watching my breath fog out. Two thumbs up and reorder seasonally.

Jade Dew: And here we enter the other side of the flavor spectrum; teas, especially green teas, are notoriously easy to scorch when brewing. Keep in mind, I'm talking about the actual tea, let alone a flavor extract. They CRUSHED this one; it's flavorful without being overpowering, and tastes like an expensive green tea brewed expertly. I chose to forgo the 'add sweetener' option, and I'm glad I did. This tea is excellent with no adornment whatsoever; it makes me want to sit on my porch and focus on not thinking about anything. Two thumbs up and immediate re-order, this can be an all day summer vape with no effort.

Pomegranate Green Tea:
Once again, we have a very delicate flavor that's easily overpowered in the green tea, and they hit the mix perfectly. The pomegranate doesn't really come out until the exhale, and it's very subtle. It's more like a perfect green tea with a few pomegranate 'kernels' in the cup than having the pomegranate in the pot when heat is applied. It's just delightful. Two thumbs up.

Black Pomegranate Tea: I can see this becoming a substitute for dessert vapes when I want to have something after dinner but am not craving a bakery kind of flavor. The black tea is strong but not overpowering, with the pomegranate sweetening it just enough. I like this one more with every hit, and will likely be reordering. Two thumbs up.

Vanilla Black Tea: OK, that's it. I'm ordering ALL THE TEAS. I'm also strongly considering challenging Ahlusion to make a Lapsang Souchong tea liquid; if anyone can do it without it becoming rancid or overpoweringly leathery, it's these folks. They have somehow found a way to 'time' the flavor notes, so the tea flavors come in up front and then you get the added notes on the exhale, just like you were drinking an infused tea. The black tea comes in up front, with the vanilla coming on the exhale and then lingering on the tongue to smooth it out. Two thumbs up.

This sampling was a complete winner for me. Two thumbs up across the board on flavor, and Ahlusion maintains the two thumps up on pricing, service and packaging.

Oooooh, I'm in! I love Lapsang Souchong tea!

So glad you're enjoying your Ahlusion liquids -- yes, that place is very well run: by a Marine, no less! :D

Just want you to know that I absolutely love your reviews.........HOWEVER.........I just spent too much $$$ on my very first Ahlusion order.......lol Got many of your suggestions plus many more! :p

Thank you for the compliment :) I write these mostly for fun and to help me organize my thoughts while sampling. Knowing I'm going to be posting a review keeps me from taking a hit, thinking "love it" or "hate it," and moving on. It's helped me to more fully enjoy the experience, because it keeps me involved, if that makes any sense.

I hope you love them all! I can't be held responsible for the financial behavior of any forum members purchasing liquids as a result of my reviews, but if I steer you wrong I'd love to hear about it. I am continually amazed by the breadth of individual flavor profiles and preferences in this community; it makes me admire the vendors for their bravery in putting flavors out there.

If your looking for an Apricot or Blackberry you should try the April Moon or Twas Brillig from Alice in Vapeland..

Also check out Nicoticket they have some good juice... http://www.nicoticket.com/eliquid/

I was also going to recommend Nicoticket. I am absolutely LOVING EVERYTHING that I have gotten from them. Simply delicious!

well i went and ordered three flavors from them: A Peachy Affair, Black Peach Tea, and Orange Creamsicle. i didn't get the Boba Tea after all because i removed it from my cart at the last minute since i'm budgeting myself and already had 3 other flavors. i wish they offered samplers. since i like apollo's peach so much i decided to stick with that flavor. also i love real orange creamsicle and have been looking all over for a juice with that flavor, so i'm totally stoked about trying that one. i put the Boba (and quite a few others) in my wish list for another time.

I can't wait for your reviews on AiV. So hurry already. Sheesh. :)

 You and me both!

That does bring up a good point though; I have AiV coming, and my contest win (three flavors) from Beyond Vape, and four from MadTown Vapor currently resting. So just over twenty flavors inbound, and that'll be it for a good while. I'm moving overseas next month, so any orders I make from this point forward will be stocking up. Once I'm settled in, I'll figure out who ships to APO addresses and how to best navigate THAT maze, and consider re-starting the sampling.

Long story short: Three more new reviews coming, a lot of liquids to re-review at the one month mark in the coming weeks, but that's it for a few months if not for good.

It's time to talk about Alice in Vapeland!!!!

Be warned; I ordered the "Taste of Everything" sample pack, which means I have sixteen flavors to review. This might get long.

Price: $0.58/mL when buying a 30mL bottle. It's at the higher end of the 'middle' of the price range I've encountered, but well worth it. Between the service, the packaging, and the flavors - oh my lord, the FLAVORS - it's worth it. I would pay Five Pawns' prices for this liquid without blinking. Thumbs up.

Service: Thumbs up. AiV has their 'portal openings' for 24 hours a week, and then takes 3-5 business days to prepare, package and ship. I have no issue with this whatsoever; we've seen a couple of companies fold recently because they underestimated demand while overestimating their ability to keep up. This model works for AiV, it keeps the workload manageable, and it still gets the liquid to the doorstep at a pace commensurate with other notable quality vendors. Communication was immediate and proactive.

Packaging: Two thumbs up. AiV has a very clear sense of whimsy on their website, in their naming and description of the liquids and in their packaging. Glass bottles come with a 'charm' (and dropper tip), the labels are attractive and professional. The box came with an Alice-themed playing card and a personalized note; "Our dear <Fenway>, Thank you for being a part of the Wonder in this World..." Look - I know it's printed on a computer, I know Alice herself didn't draw the picture just for me....I don't care. It's a nice touch.

Now...on to the flavors. All liquids were 11mg nic, AiV's "ideal" high-VG mix. Tested in HH.357's at 2.0 ohms on a Vamo V5 at 4.0 volts.

Black & White Cookie: A vanilla cake cookie with black & white frosting. I get the chocolate and vanilla frosting notes on top of the cake. Cake on the inhale, frosting comes on the exhale. A really nice job recreating one of my more cherished childhood memories. If you didn't grow up enjoying Grandma's Black & White cookies on special occasions, two things: One, I'm sorry and two, try this liquid. It's exactly the flavor profile you'd get from homemade B&W cookies. Two thumbs up.

Punkin Tumble: Described as a pumpkin cake, and they hit it dead-on. Surprisingly sweet. I get the pumpkin and cake notes, blended nicely, with a layer of sweetness; probably a butter-cream frosting style. I prefer a cream cheese frosting for this style, so for preference alone it gets one thumb up instead of two. It is very good, but it's not 'perfect for me' good. Thumbs up but likely won't be in the rotation because I'm a picky jerk with my flavors.

Orange Makes Me Creamsicle: Yep. They even managed to capture the orange flavor you get from a creamsicle; it's not quite natural orange, it's not quite orange candy, it's just the orange you get in a creamsicle. Not 'chemical' or harsh from artificial sweetener, just nostalgic. I'm surprised by how much I like this one, as I've been avoiding the creamsicle liquids. Two thumbs up.

April Moon: Described as apricot, blueberry, and a hint of 'the moon.' A perfect 50/50 blend of apricot and blueberry on the inhale, something creamy-ish on the exhale. This combo shouldn't work. It makes no sense. It isn't found in Snapple, or Kombucha, or Whole Foods, or any of that. It works. Two thumbs up.

Afternoon Tea: Described as a black tea with a 'dab' of cream. I get a very light black tea, with creamy notes on the exhale. Was expecting a bit of a bolder tea, but this works juuuuuuust fine. It's an excellent warm morning vape, not so overpoweringly 'dark' as to evoke cool fall/winter mornings with a steaming cup. Thumbs up.

'Twas Brillig: Described as a blackberry crumble. The blackberry is very predominant up front; a perfectly ripe, sweet without acidity blackberry. Not getting much crumble, but the blackberry is so damn good I don't care. The crumble is there, but ever so lightly. A good balance without trying to overshadow the best part (the perfect blackberry). Thumbs up.

Lemon Loves Cake: A perfect lemon cake. Lemon up front, immediately smoothed out by a fluffy cake note. Icing on the exhale; this is like a lemon bundt cake with a light glaze rather than a fully frosted cake. This would be a fantastic addition to a morning coffee routine for a change of pace. Two thumbs up.

A Quiet Morning: Described as a passionfruit green tea. I get a very dominant passionfruit up front, green tea lurking in the background. By way of contrast with Ahlusion's tea flavors, this is green tea heavily infused with passionfruit, like an Arizona. Is one better than the other? Personal preference. I say yes; this feels too heavy-handed for my taste when it comes to green teas. Thumbs sideways; the passionfruit is still nice, I would just like a subtler mix.

Mystic Mandalime: A mandarin orange/lime blend. I get the orange waaaay up front, with the lime coming at the very end, almost at the aftertaste level. Sweet and tart all at once. It tastes like it is ready to have a healthy shot of rum or, even better, gin added with a garnish as I plunk down in a lawn chair and wave goodbye to the next two hours. Two thumbs up.

White Rabbit: Advertised as 'curiously indescribable.' I get.....caramel....maybe a touch of rum, like a rum cake? It's absolutely delicious. Some sort of spicy note lurking deep in there. I want to get a bottle and taste it twice a day until I nail it down, but I think knowing might make it less precious. I suspect that was the goal, and it's been achieved. Two thumbs up.

Zombie Apocalypse: The name makes me think 'blood orange,' but AiV took it in a completely different direction. Flavors like this are why I work out. It's just perfect. A light strawberry cupcake with a sweet but shy frosting; the pastry chef knew the strawberry cake was the star of this show. This begs to be enjoyed in the evening with a shot of perfect espresso. Two thumbs up.

Crunkberry: Advertised as Cap'n Crunch cereal with berries added. I get mixed berries with a sweet cereal, milk on the end of the exhale to smooth everything out. More like a home-made mix of cereals or cereal with dried fruit added than adding fresh fruit to Cap'n Crunch, which actually plays in its favor. Makes me feel like a kid again, eating my sugar-frosted sugar bombs and loving the ability to metabolize 4000 calories on the bus ride to school. Two thumbs up.

Fifteen Foot Falls: A very complex description - marshmallow, coconut, graham and tobacco. I'm getting the marshmallow and graham, a light hint of coconut primarily on the exhale, and finally the tobacco, as if you ate a bite of a chocolate-less s'more then puffed on a very light cigar. Makes me want to take a pull from a flask filled especially for this camping trip. Would be absolutely divine in the fall. Thumbs up.

Frost Blossom: Described as an orange that's been frosted over. Wow. Was expecting a menthol flavor added to the orange. Failing that, was expecting mint. It's neither; it's.......*shrug* FROST. It's like eating an orange while standing in a restaurant walk-in freezer. The cold concentrates the citrus and sugars, sort of like the orange version of an ice wine. I LOVE this. Two thumbs up and definite inclusion in the rotation.

Mangri-La and Cherry Blossom Tea were tasted previously; those reviews can be found a page or so back. Two thumbs up to both of those flavors as well.

Overall, AiV gets a resounding two thumbs up. Any flavors that weren't for me were just that; exceptionally well made but not for me as a matter of very individual taste.

Time for some new reviews!

First is three liquids from Beyond Vape. I won the biweekly contest, and they were kind enough to send me three 10mL bottles of my choice. Since it was a contest win, I can't comment on service beyond saying the liquids got here quickly and they held a giveaway, which is an automatic thumbs up!

Price: $0.67/mL in the 10mL bottles (the only size I've seen offered on the website). It's near the high end, but not even close to the level of Five Pawns and other boutique companies. Thumbs sideways.

Packaging: Liquids come in plastic squeeze bottles with dripper tips, with professional looking printed labels. The three bottles arrived in a bubble-wrap lined envelope. Thumbs up.

Flavors
: All liquids were tested at 12mg, 50/50 VG/PG in a Vamo V5 and HH.357 atty at 2.0 ohms.

Citrus Dew: NAILED IT. Finally a passable Mountain Dew flavor! Beyond Vape hit the flavor notes dead on, without the harshness many get from trying to add too much citrus. This will be reordered for sure, as it's my third or fourth attempt to find my favorite soda in e-liquid form. Two thumbs up and immediate entry to the rotation.

Chocolate Coffee: This is a very nice, very subtle mocha. The coffee note is sort of plain, but the chocolate tastes expensive. Similar to Ahlusion, they've avoided making it taste like bad drip coffee with cocoa powder dumped in. Definite thumbs up.

Boston Cream Pie: I get the cream and cake notes up front, with a hint of chocolate on the exhale. This liquid tastes like a Boston Creme donut more than an actual Boston creme pie, which is in no way a 'hit' on Beyond. It reminds me of stopping at my local Dunkin' Donuts on the way to school and work in my younger days. Thumbs up.

Overall, I give Beyond Vape a solid thumbs up on their liquid and their operation. The biweekly contest they sponsor is crazy generous and they back it up with excellent products and service.

...and now we move on to Mad Town Vapors! Dino, the owner, reached out to me after reading this thread and asked if I'd like to sample some of his liquids for review. WOULD. I. EVER.

First things first, thank you Dino for the very generous offer, and kudos for the courage to offer liquids for independent review.

Service: How can I NOT give two thumbs up?? In addition to offering free liquids for review, Dino worked with me to determine flavor preferences, nic level and VG/PG preference, and mailed the samples the next day. Two thumbs up, of course.

Packaging
: The liquids came in 15 mL (!!!) plastic squeeze bottles, with minimalist printed labels. Given all the 'flash' we're beginning to see on e-liquid packaging, when I see a simple label these days I'm immediately curious as to whether the company focuses more on content and flavor, or is running on ultra-thin margins. In Dino's case, I suspect it's both, as we'll see from the price and flavor. Thumbs up.

Price: $0.30/mL in a 30mL bottle. This is approaching the low end of price for the companies I've sampled, and begins to explain the minimalist labels. Dino is clearly putting his money into the product and website rather than flashy packaging, which helps keep the price surprisingly low for the quality of his liquids. Two thumbs up.

Flavors: Liquids were allowed to rest for seven days at Dino's request, then sampled in HH.357's at 2.0 ohms on a Vamo V5. All liquids were 12mg nic and 50/50 VG/PG. Dino asked me to select four flavors, so I tried to cover the full range of flavor styles - a fruit, a drink, a tobacco and a dessert.

Alota Horchata: WOW. This is a spicy, cinnamon forward horchata, and it's wonderful. The cinnamon hits right up front, though it's a sweetened cinnamon. You get the rice-cream on the exhale, which is no mean feat; most liquid makers substitute some sort of creamy note and call it good, while Mad Town really captures the rice flavor and texture of real horchata. This is a spicier horchata than you get at chain restaurants with cheesy names and decor; it's more like the real deal you find in places that blond haired, blue eyed dudes like me always get odd looks in when I'd manage to find the 'real deal' places in southern California back in the day. Two definite thumbs up for authenticity.

Palm Tree Smoothie: Advertised as strawberry, banana and coconut. This....is a very interesting flavor profile. I get all three kind of at once, with the banana lingering the most on the exhale. I don't think I've ever had coconut mixed into a strawberry-banana; it sounds bad but I like it. It all blends into its own unique flavor, sweet with a toasty/creamy note. Thumbs up.

Honey Badger: This is Mad Town's RY4. And....yup. RY4 for sure. Caramel is dominant, vanilla and tobacco meeting on the exhale. Nicely layered, this is a definite competitor to Neckbeard's Nectar (one of my first-ever liquid purchases and one I maintain a constant stock of) given the pricing. The taste is just as good, the price is twice as nice! Two thumbs up and I'll be reordering this for sure.

Peanut Butter Cup: This was my gauntlet-throw to Dino, though he didn't know it. I am a lifelong Reese's Peanut Butter Cup addict. When Friendly's Restaurants, a New England chain, made the Reese's sundae in the 80's, it was singlehandedly responsible for the slowing of my metabolism. This liquid.....is lovely. The peanut butter is surprisingly subtle – most PB Cup liquids I've tried have been a smack in the nose. I like this one much better – they've captured the PB 'filling' you get in a Reese's instead of actual peanut butter. Two thumbs up and reorder.

Overall, for my first 'freebie' review I'm almost disappointed I couldn't find anything to fault Mad Town on, because it makes me look borderline dishonest - send me free stuff and I'll talk you up! However, the liquids were just damn good, and the operation looks solid to boot. Thumbs up across the board, and Dino will be seeing orders from me in the near future as I stock up to head overseas.

Thank you so much for putting in the time, money, and effort to share these honest reviews! They are extremely valuable and reliable. There are many brands and "popular" flavors that I haven't pulled the trigger on, you have helped me to decide which have worth. Thank you! Thank you!

Thank YOU for the kind words! I'm always a little bit happy and a little bit apprehensive when folks tell me a review I wrote pointed them toward or away from a particular vendor. Taste is just so darned subjective that something I think tastes like the lips of a virgin angel who just sipped the universe's finest mead welcoming me to Valhalla with the most fleeting of kisses might taste like stanky gym socks steeped in camel spit and then lightly dusted with finely ground toe cheese to you, and vice versa. I have a very specific flavor profile, so as always - YMMV, vape on and enjoy!
