TrustFire chargers are known to sometimes age batteries quite fast. They can overcharge and they don't completely shut down when they sense the battery is charged. This means that if you leave batteries in it for hours longer than fully charged the voltage keeps climbing. 4.2 +-0.05 volts is the spec for Li-ion batts, but they even suffer at 4.25v.

You also don't know how low battery voltage is when you swap out the battery. Take them down too low and that reduces their life a lot too.

You really need to have a inexpensive DMM to check batt voltage or you just don't know what's going on. It will also let you check atty resistance :thumb:

I'd have this "fully charged" battery checked with a multimeter at the vape shop you're going to, and see if it does really show as 4.2v. Either way that isn't exactly the best battery charger you can find, the charger for your IMR batteries is probably the most important thing because it can make or break the expensive batteries we rely on.

Features of XTAR MC2:

1. Charge two batteries simultaneously and independently.
2. Intelligently identify input power and automatically adjust suitable charge current(0.25A/1.0A).
3. Applying to Micro USB interface for power supplying makes charging flexible and convenient.
4. LED indicators do real-time display of battery state.
5. Three-stage charge algorithm(TC-CC-CV).
6. Over heat protection. When operate in high temperature, MC2 will automatically lower charge current to prevent over-heating burns.
7. Built-in reverse-polarity and short-circuit protection circuit.
8. 0V activation and soft-start function.
9. MC2 has under voltage lockout and self-start function.
10. Automatically stop when charge complete.
11. ABS durable material.

I have had great luck with my XTAR MC2 --- TWO INDEPENDENT BANKS - specifications up above. While it does not have the digital display it does have the most important features of the XTAR more expensive chargers; and is only right at $9.00 including the USB CABLE. I bought it directly from XTAR ( http://www.xtardirect.com/ ) ) and service was great.

Right now they have a promotion until the end of December I believe on their WP2S CHARGER WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY AND FOUR INDEPENDENT CHARGING BAYS (INCLUDES 2 FREE ICR18650-26F SAMSUNG BATTERIES) @$24.90 --- specifications below:

Features of WP2S:

- Compatible with IMR lithium battery
- Each channel is independent
- Three-stage charge algorithm(TC-CC-CV)
- Three charge current options (0.25 A, 0.5 A, and 1.0 A)
- Soft-start function, to avoid damage from large charge current while charging.
- Automatically cut off when the battery is charged fully
- Precision cut-off voltage at 4.2V
- Compatible with small capacity battery
- Over heat protection
- LCD displays each battery real time statues
- Use high power intelligent step-down DC - DC circuit, greatly reduce the energy loss;
- Built-in reverse-polarity and short-circuit protection circuit
- Use fireproof material for the shell
- 0V activation function can wake up the over-discharged/sleeping batteries
- 120°angle high definition VA screen to display the charging current ,voltage and power indicator, you can see the charging status from any angle of view.
- Certified by CE, RoHS

I believe the XTAR line of chargers are the best chargers in the market today. Others may like another brand, but the reviews on XTAR are really positive.

They have a BIG LINE of other chargers (FIFTEEN IN TOTAL) you can view at the web site listed above. I believe you would be VERY pleased with any in their line. They also have a full line of BATTERIES at competitive prices (IMHO) The SAMSUNG 25R's are $6.99 - as good or a better price than some of the high-profile sellers..

Good Luck!

Senile Old Man Donnie:)
