My wife and I were in a Verizon store back around Labor Day after deciding that we both wanted the Note 7. As the sales guy was writing up the order, the manager came out of the office and rounded up all the Note 7's, including the two my wife and I were buying. He said they had been recalled and could not be sold.

We ended up buying the S7 Edge, which was our second choice for screen size and sharpness. You'd think that Samsung would ride herd on suppliers and their own designers to make sure a phone was electrically and mechanically safe. I don't particularly like the non-replaceable battery pack. I'm used to taking the battery out to reset the phone if it gets unstable.

While I like the S7 Edge, I finally turned off the edge feature. It's almost impossible to hold the phone and type without the display edge sensing your fingers on each side. That makes the keyboard unresponsive as you type search parameters in the browser.

FWIW, my LG G3 was fine. I'm using it with a Tzumi VR headset. If I could get a refund on the S7 Edge I'd probably go back to the LG.
