Buddy picked up a used mech mod for his first mod which I didnt recommend and was asking what he needed. I simply told him to go to a vape store and tell them you need some batteries that can sub ohm. He came back w/ 2 samsung icr18650 32a. Being as how I dont really keep up with the latest and greatest, figured they were just a new battery on the market. Since his batteries werent charged I gave him one of my charged vtc4's and said we can swap out next time I see you. When I was just looking at it I saw it wasnt a imr. Anybody try these? Couldnt really find any info on google.

It appears to be a 6.4A max continuous discharge battery. And of course it's an ICR. So, even though that 6.4A is a relatively high number in the world of ICR's (most are ~2.6A), it is still an ICR, which is not as safe chemistry-wise as an IMR, which equates to a much nastier temperament (vs IMR's) when overly taxed.

Which is why I'd steer clear of them.

Not sure what Samsung 18650 battery your buddy got without a pic to help identify it. If it truly is an ICR chemistry battery, its not fit for vaping, especially not sub-ohm vaping. Is the battery a light blue? The red Samsungs are ICR, the light blue is the 25R with 20 amps continuous and 2500 mAh and suitable for sub-ohms down to 0.4 ohm.
