just get it Z, best mechanical I have that was less than $150, feels good in the hand and the air control is good, nice lines too. I'm thinking different alloys under the plate from the magnet test. strip one of the other mech's you won't be using after getting this one

Your spot on Charlie. The Cobra Genesis is not stainless through and through either. After striping it, I found brass with another slightly colored metal "goldish" in color. Notice how its copper, then "something else" then a fine strip of copper again, then "something else".

The "something else" is not stainless I don't think because it has a light gold color to it. I was aggressive during the striping process, and I'm sure its not the Nickel underplating that I'm seeing which is typical of a chrome plate job.

Looks cool though...

looks great, now that we know it's brass (seemed like more magnet attraction than I would expect from brass but could be) are you going to strip one? that inner tube, that's threaded all the way inside, is very thin, won't be lot left if you take the plate off

Can you take pics of it Charlie? Would love to see it apart...

I plan on stripping it, for sure...

no pic's, it looks like the listing, you can strip the plating off the thicker parts first without FUBAR'ing the whole thing and still exposing the brass for those parts, you won't want to strip the switch button, it will look OK still plated. I think you'll not want to experiment with cosmetic improvements after trying this tube but looking forward to seeing what you do.
How's it coming with the ceramic wicks? Keep focused on what will change the way we vape, cosmetics are just that!
but it would be so steam-punk in brass!

ZS I just got into using SS wicks when GV sold per oxidized ones [THEY ARE GREAT, I don't taste the SS], I'm so ashamed, I depend on you younger [with less shaky hands] to do the real work. I knew they were the way to go, Raidy be dam'ed for not advancing his ideas, I'll encourage from the sideline and try to PIF the way I do on the rigs I work on.
I'm a lurker, too lazy to do the real work.

Speeking of stripping something down to the brass ZP I just filed my old eVic tube and IT'S BRASS under that old cheap plateing! Now since you have one of the new "dress-up tubes" for your eVic [I have the black one, looks GREAT] strip that old tube [you don't need till you buy a new head becouse the eVic is just so great] and let's see what a stripped down to brass eVic looks like ZS. I will next time I'm on a rig with machine shop, don't have a big wheel at home.

I'll be damn Charlie. I'm headed out to the shop right now...I thought for sure it was aluminum, as its so light...

I already stripped down an eGo 18650 Batt tube, and its aluminum..

Just ordered mine! Looks like everything I want in a mod! Thanks!
Oh, and it's very reasonably priced too. :)

That is what I like to hear!! :) Glad to see you found a mod that you can really fall in love with!
These L-Rider Crayola Toyota Scopes look amazing! I would love to order one someday soon. :)
Maybe If I win this new drip tip that I am in the runnings for, I will order 1 of these & a new genny! :D
Not that I'll have the money for either in the next month and a half lol.

Enjoy your trip to Meh-he-co K-dubs. Careful of the cartel, call Mr. White or Jesse immediately, soon as you get down there. We need to keep our heads out of the water. This is a big deal. Good luck. Have fun! ;)

Can I ask what kind of batteries you use in it? Do you use a Kick? Never used a mech mod before, still kind of unsure what kind of batteries to use.

I am mainly using the 16350.........no kick, in fact I had to ask my husband what that is...LOL. I had an omega with a mech. switch also......only way to go imo. Always remember to use protected batts. Hubby's shipped Saturday and we got it today. Fast shipping! This mod really does work great although it's early days yet. But I'm lovin' mine so far!

Hey guys just wanted to ask/share/inquire:

1. Anybody know what the info on the safety cut off is?
2. I got the corolla and the firing response is pretty slow.... I use it for my genesis takes 1-2 seconds to fire up anybody else got that issue?
3. Last question is that I usually end up needing to press the fire button pretty hard for to fully fire anybody else?

Just wondering if these are manufacturing or the thing is built that way.

Other than that its a pretty good device, been pretty happy with it past couple of days. Those top three are the only issues I have with it.

Cheers!
