I got this stuff because it is hard stuff. I got that along with the clay and mold release here...

Alumilite - Products - Casting Resins - Alumilite Crystal Clear

Have you got any pics? As long as it is smooth, I don't know if I'd mind a few bubbles inside it. I read that using a heat gun or a blow dryer on lower heat will eliminate some of the bubbles(casting craft stuff).

Do you still have what you made with the other resin? Does it still stink? I read that after it cures completely, it's not supposed to smell bad anymore.

Yes it still smells if you put it up to your face Sci. I got a mold made for the outside...now I need to form the inside. I am doing pics along the way so I'll get them up when I can.

Hey Sci..If you want to see what I have come up with on the resin casting take a look here....

Cast Resin Mod pictures by larryis3 - Photobucket

I will eventually make a separate post for the build but not ready for that yet. I still have to make the cover and the guts. I have two different touch switches as you can see in the one pic...dunno which one I will use yet. Oh..and the hockey puck looking thing is the polyester resin on the bottom and I poured a bad batch of urethane(white) on top. The urethane is less forgiving in the mix ratio..if you dont get it exact you end up with white casting which is actually because of all the bubbles...or it doesnt harden. The good news is I took my 230watt iron and held it on a thin piece of brass on top of that puck like I was soldering it..the brass was turning color and it barely left a mark on the resin...so soldering the stuff when mounted in the resin will NOT be a problem! This thing is ugly as crap without a pressure or vacuum chamber to eliminate the bubbles..as it is suppose to be crystal clear like the polyester..so I will be giving it a paint job. It is much more durable than a plastic box thats for sure.
