The 510 tanks like an egoT tank, it's an inferior tank system to other options. The biggest downsides are severe loss of flavour, heat and it loves to go through juice like there's no tomorrow and you can still get a horrible burnt wick taste with that much juice wasted. If that's what you're talking about, they're not worth buying.

Instead, CE2 or CE3 will perform better for heat and flavour. The CE2 is much easier to take apart to get it to work optimally, especially now they have the ultimate edition with shatter proof casing. If it doesn't wick fast enough just take out the inner seal and cut a pair of /\'s into the existing slots and it'll wick like a champ. Only downside I've come accross with those is you get some juice in your mouth now and then but compared to EgoT systems it's so worth it.

Cartomisers are probably the most reliable portable solution. The biggest I know of is the EMDDC (ego mega dual coil cartomiser) from madvapes. It holds 3ml or thereabout and is superior in wicking to everything "large"/tank style I've used before. The only drawback is that it has no heat. It's like a 3ohm cartomiser because it's so long.

A standard 2.5ohm cartomiser will carry really good flavour and warmth on your riva and the only downside to these are that they only hold half a ml of liquid at a time or thereabout. Unless you get a bigger one (which will inpact heat) you'll need a few of them if you're out for a long time. They'll only last about a week each if you're a moderate vaper whereas a CE2 can last a month or more with proper care. Some people have been using the same ones for months. Better value for money.

Overall, an XL CE2 wins in my book for flavour, durability, portability and heat.

Choice is yours though and I'm sure there are a lot more tank options out there. Just anything but an Ego T atomiser X3

I too find the ultimate edition CE2 a great device. I liked the Boge 2.0 cartos as well but for longevity and flavor the CE2 is better IMO. I like the idea of cutting the slots. I have been flipping the bottom plug over for better wicking and discarding the middle plug and it works good too. With your modification do you find that it travels as well; or do you still get a little in the tube if you lay it down? Also how high do you cut the slots into the plug? Mine works great but it isn't as leak proof as they are when they are stock.

I vape vg so I find I need to cut the slots or it will not wick at all whatsoever.

I cut slightly further than halfway up and only a little wider than the original seal is. You just want to make the slot a little wider but because of how thick the juice is I tend to use I make them a little higher too. You'll find it feels floppier and it's so much easier to put back onto the cup.

I've surprisingly had less liquid in my mouth since I cut them because when I turn the ce2 upside down I only need to do it for a second or two and it's wicked. It goes in the cup faster, not seeping out the syringe holes.

If you can get away without cutting the slots higher then it's not needed, but widening them will really help free the wicks from ever being pinched by the seal. I really have to for vg but it's abolutely the best tank system I've ever used for vg modded that way. Nothing's wicked properly at all until now.

I carry one cut CE2 with me to work and half the time I found it's flipped upside down in my pocket as I've been working and it's not leaked. I still do get some liquid in my mouth if I'm drawing too hard, and when I take the top seal out it's always wet but there's not a pool in there. It's not perfect, it's just working tolerably and by far better than a normal ego tank.

Depends on your definition of leaking lol. If it can be in my pocket upside down for over an hour and I don't have a pool of liquid in my pocket I consider that not leaking. Very very minimal leaking that'll just sit on the upper seal until it makes its way down to the cup and rarely gets in my mouth I consider tolerable.

Shoot me a PM if you want to see one I've cut compared to one I haven't. No point in taking the pic if you don't need to see haha but it's no problem if you want to.

...It's still going strong after a month of minumal useage so I couldn't give a fair review of durability. They're cheap enough though. Good luck mate!

The EMDCC I'm using now has had better than 60ml of DK-TAB run through it and shows no sign of slowing down. I do gently run a paper clip up the center hole as part of my daily filling ritual - I vape ~2.5ml a day so I only have to fill it once a day but the thing's been in full-time service since August 5.

I hear they're not real tolerant of sugary juices and filling them with thick (VG-based) juices can take awhile - syringe filling is highly recommended :)
