Just wanted to stop in and say hi as I have been lurking for a few weeks now, thanks to this forum I brought an e cig and have been trying hard to stay away from normal cigs for about 4 or 5 days now with lots of success, I was smoking nearly 40 cigs a day so my family and friends are amazed that something like this is possible, and I am buying some of my family members a starter kit for Christmas.
Yesterday on day five I ran into some problems, both e cigs started making a noise like a whistle, so I did some research, tightened and untightened the battery but nothing helped, then the vapour started getting less and less on both of them, they were both three quarters full of liquid, and I found if I took the little cartidge thingy out and put it back in again I could get two good puffs before it went back to not having any vapour, I did a bit more research and read somewhere that maybe leaving them both open overnight in case anything had leaked maybe all the bits needed to dry out...so that is the point I am at now, they have been open all night so hopefully they have dried out and they are now on charge as both seem a bit dead and I am sitting here having a normal cig which tastes so bad.
Do you think somehow they are broke, I haven't dropped them or anything....or could it be the atomizer has died as I read somewhere some of them don't last long, I have been using them for five days now.
Thanks for any help or advice, and I am so glad to have this forum....
Sandy

Hey Sandrajean! Welcome to ECF! Sorry to hear that you're having issue with your cigs. :( However, can you tell us what you bought for e cig gear? It would help greatly to try and diagnose just what might have gone wrong if we knew what type of e cig you have. Btw congrats on your decision to change your life.

I was a 1 to 1 1/2 PAD smoker myself for over 40 years. Never tried to quit. Found e cigs and within 24 hours threw away my analogs, ash trays and lighters. So, it CAN be done! Just stay with it!

Thanks for your swift reply, and I am glad now that you asked what kind of e cig it was as I really hadn't got a clue lol, so now after searching for the receipt I now know I own a Joy510 lol, and it also says ego-t on the instruction manuel, also on the receipt it says Galaxy Electronic Cigarette Purchase.
I hate being so new at all of this and sounded really silly, but any help would be great....thanks
ughhh now having to smoke my 2nd real ciggy of the day........
also someone asked what my pv was....I had to go look in the abbreviation sticky to find out what a pv was lol....definitely learning as I go....thanks again for any help....

The 510 Ecigarette Kit : Electronic Cigarette Kits, , E Liquid, Refills suitable for JOYE 510 this one or
this one eGO TANK [2151] - £34.99 : Electronic Cigarette Kits, , E Liquid, Refills suitable for JOYE 510

If it's an Ego-T then it could mean it needs to be cleaned or dry burned.

Take the cartridge out and blow the atomiser out. Best done over a paper towel or sink. Then swill it out with water from the hot tap and blow it out again.

Next, you want to put the atomiser back on with no cartridge on. Then, keep holding the button on your ecig down (it will cut off about every 10 seconds or so so keep repressing when it cuts off) until you can see in the middle of the atomiser, inside the straw in there, you can see the wick material is actually glowing red.

Once it's gone red, keep it glowing red for 10 - 30 seconds.

Give it time to cool for a few minutes then repeat the dry burn. Hold the button down until you see the red glowing in the middle and keep it glowing for 10 - 30 seconds then that's it. Refill the atomiser again.

- It will help if you take a few short, sharp puffs through the mouthpiece after you have refilled it as it will really help the liquid to get back into the atomiser.

If it's the smaller 510, then you likely have a smaller atomiser but it's essentially the same thing. Take off the cartridge, blow it out, rinse it out, blow the water out, and activate the atomiser without any liquid inside it until you see the red glow coming from inside.

An atomiser shouldn't go bad within 5 days, and sometimes, with some liquids it can just need a good cleaning to get working again.

Yes I have to push a button.....
and wow thank you for those links for the e cig I have....i now know its an ego tank whoop whoop....feeling more in control already, I think it was all doing my head in and then this morning feeling such a failure having to take in all those chemicals.....and so I panicked and decided to drive everyone on here crazy....
So after leaving everything out overnight possibly to dry out, and then just finished charging one of the batteries....I finally have my e cig back again, lots of vapour, throat hit, everything......so now I am wondering if it was just the batteries that weren't fully charged.....now I feel so stupid.....but I thought the little push button was supposed to flash when the batteries were getting low....
Anyway sorry for bugging everyone, and I will copy and paste the info on burning the atomizer just in case it is ever needed....thank you so much for typing all of that out, it is appreciated....
One more question that is driving me nutty though.....its about the different flavours you can buy....I am at the point of wanting to try them out....but somewhere I read that you only add a few drops of flavour into your regular flavour, and this morning I read that you fill the carto thingys up fully with the flavour, so I am so muddled and can't seem to find the right answer, its probably all the chemicals I had to take in this morning doing my head in lol....
Thank you all so much, its really nice to know you are all here to help as I want to make this work so badly....
thanks and sorry for being a pain.....

You are not a bother nor a pain, this is what we are here for, to help each other out any way we can, so that all of our experiences are good ones :). As far as the juices, some are ready to be vaped right away, and some are concentrated, so if it's concentrated you need to mix it, otherwise it can be put directly in the carto till full and vape. And please don't hesitate to ask any questions you have, we are more than happy to help out. (And I'm no expert on bought juices, I've only mixed my own so far, but I am looking forward to trying some real juices).

Since you're in the Uk, check out Kev's site: FreedomVape Online Store - Items - FreedomVape (UK) free shipping and good pricing on liquid.

Are you meaning to make your own out of concentrates? Usually you buy in the liquid made up already and you just put it into your atomiser.

Because you have an ego-T, it's a little trickier because as you know, there's a lot of liquid at once to get through. So, all you need to do is keep using it until it's low on liquid, then just blow the atomiser out and wash the cartridge out. Then just put in your new flavour. It might still taste like the last liquid you put in but it'll pass pretty quickly to the new flavour.

Another option is to use something like a 510 atomiser: Electronic Cigarette - Atomizers - 510 (use september10 for 10% off with these guys).

What you can do with this is just directly drop 6 - 8 drops of liquid into the atomiser to see what it tastes like. Once you have those 6 - 8 drops in there, keep vaping until it's tasting dry or you're not getting a lot of vapour, and just put 2 more drops in at a time.

When you want to put in a new flavour, just blow it out and put in another 6 - 8 drops of the new flavour, then put in just 2 after that with the same flavour if it's getting dry.

Most people do this to try new flavours out as it uses only a little liquid at a time.

If you mean making your own or adding concentrates, check out the DIY section DIY E-Liquid but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

And hey, don't sweat it. The ecig world is full of jargon and numbers for models and stuff you just need to ask to find out. We've all been there, and it's harder now to learn it all than it ever has been with so much ecig stuff out there now :D

Brilliant...thank you so much, now its all starting to fall into place....so there are concentrated and non concentrated lol, I never thought of that.
And OMG I just went onto that site in the United Kingdom and he has 120 flavours.......120 !!!!!!
I think I have just died and gone to heaven, so will definitely give his site a go, so thanks for that...
The advice on just using a few drops to try out the taste, briliant I would never have thought of that and also washing out the carty things etc, totally brilliant....
Now I feel so much happier, thank you so so much for the info which I have bookmarked so can read it all again.

Welcome Sandra! Once you get to 5 posts, as you probably know, you can post in other sections of the forums.

Go to the Main forum, where you can see all the topics, then SCROLL down the forums. At the bottom, you will see a suppliers list. Just browse through the list until you see ones FROM the UK. If you think 120 flavors is a lot, you ain't seen NOTHING yet :0).
