An old scam resurfaced today. The so called "fee trial" electronic cigarette kit. It is NOT FREE!
You will be billed $99 on your credit card after the trial period and $79 per month until you cancel for cartridge refills. Do not fall for this. Here is the disclaimer and link.

E-Cigs Brand - Claim Your Free Starter Kit

Membership Terms and Conditions:
If I enroll in the refill Membership program I am agreeing to be charged $99.99 in 15 days for the kit I received plus a 10-cartridge refill pack, and 79.99 +S&H each 30 days thereafter for a new 10-cartridge refill pack. My credit card will be billed and my shipment will be sent automatically at those times. Refill shipments will continue until I call to cancel my Membership at 1-866-830-2464, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I understand that my starter kit has a retail value of $99.99. If I cancel my membership but do not return the starter kit, I will be charged for its full value.

It IS a free trial. For about a week.

It's called negative option billing. It's up to you to cancel.

It's not a scam. What it is, is a method of sales whereby companies prey on those that don't read contracts and/or are too lazy to call and cancel within the required time period.

Much like many gym memberships or cable TV bundles.

Exactly. So ANY time ANY company offers to send you a FREE TRIAL -- read and re-read the small print!! Also, one helpful hint: Only use a prepaid Credit/Debit card for "purchases" like that.
Never your real or "everyday" cards or bank accounts for things like that! Good to keep a prepaid card on hand with only a smallish balance on it, small enough that if you ended up losing that balance, it wouldn't ruin your day or worse.

I saved an elderly acquaintance a small fortune by giving her that advice -- she was addicted to "free trials" of cosmetics and creams that promised to make her look younger. She was constantly battling her credit card companies demanding chargebacks every time she fell prey to yet another 'not free free trial'. The prepaid card trick saved her money and a small bit of her questionable sanity.

Great idea using the pre-paid cards.

Kinda like free kittens or puppies :lol::lol::lol: but if ya love 'em you will keep 'em and enjoy every minute of the time you spend with 'em. Just keep your checkbook/credit card handy 'cause you are gonna need it often.

Wait.............if you order within the next 5 minutes we'll include a second starter kit, absolutely free! All you do is pay an additional shipping and handling fee. (another 99 bucks) You can give the second kit to a friend, and give the bill for the additional monthly shipment to him. Don't worry, being a non-smoker he will thank you for it.

Telling you you will be charged for something before you are charged for something is literally NOT stealing

Correct however most would argue the stealing part is where in small print designed to be overlooked, skipped, or hard to read tells you that you will be charged for a "free starter kit". Now, later, or in the far off future if you are charged for an item it was never "free" merely payment deferred and to label it as free knowing there will be a charge is fraudulent aka stealing.
