Scary experience while buying online

So i saw Cyber Monday as a chance to get some really good deals on e-liquid, replacement coils, new tanks, etc. I purchased from many stores that night and bought a lot of stuff. I should also add that whenever i buy stuff online i always transfer roughly the amount i intend to use from my savings to my checking with the Wells Fargo App, with the thought process that if someone did try to over charge me i would be safe..... NOT the case. Needless to say i was charged 6 times on a 25 dollar total. That's not even the worst of it. because i only put in my checking what i think i will use for "safety" sake, i was charged a transfer fee 5 times( each charge after the initial one). ALL of my money was gone, im a college student. The only good thing about this was whoever was on the other end of the phone call when i called Well Fargo. He was awesome and genuinely seemed like he really wanted to help me out. In the end i got all my money back:banana:. Just a warning to you all. oh yea i called the Store numerous times left about 3 voice mails, have not heard back. The vendor was [moderated]. Have you guys ever bought stuff from there? ever had a good/bad experience?

Ok, I have no idea what that means.

Are you saying you ordered one $25.00 items and were charged for six?

Or you made one $25.00 order, but the charge for it was processed six times?

Or you thought you ordered one $25.00 item, but ended up ordering six of them by mistake?

Or you thought you made one $25.00 transfer from savings to checking, but Wells Fargo made six $25.00 transfers instead? Why is Wells Fargo transferring your money from savings to checking without permission?

I'd say u didn't give the transfer time to go through. Therefore u was charged the overdraft due to insufficient funds... Just my guess

idk... the guy from the bank was like "whoa whoa whoa this is messed up are u sure this is a credible store" he made it seem like it was all their fault

I think he's saying his order was $25 and the store charged him $25 but 6 times...that's a major bummer. I have heard of vapedudes and was going to order from them in the past but never have. please keep updating this thread with how it goes. I'd like to know.

that is correct, and so far i have all of my money back but still have not heard back from [moderated] yet

Oops! I wonder if this is some variation of overdraft protection. My bank offered the service as an opt in, which I declined - mostly out of fear that someone might get into my online account and begin withdrawing enough to wipe out savings as well as checking. By the way, my own little, local bank does not charge to transfer within my own accounts.

Don't even think I'm making excuses for the vendor. I'm not.

Thats what it was "overdraft protection fees" if there is a way i can opt out i will, ill look into it. Thanks

I have ordered from [moderated] several times and have been very happy with the quality of the e juice they sell. They are basically a "one man" operation and they open each day, get to a certain amount of orders, then close. They normally operate about 5-6 behind on orders. I did get my order from Cyber Monday, so I'm thinking you should have received yours. Also, I think the problem with the multiple charges was a bank error on their side. I read that several people had the same problem. Good Luck!

Ty76,

You can check your order status on their website, I just checked and it shows that they are current with orders. I assume they are caught up. It does that on their main page that they are in the process of switching credit card processors. I assume that was due to problems like you are experiencing. Open a support case on the website and ask Jennifer if she won't mind checking on your order.

Get a credit card. Even if low limit, and "backed" by you checking, here's the thing:
1) a DEFINING difference with a credit card is that you are protected from many types of fraud, and will get credited back for fraudulent charges - before you've actually paid anything.
2) As a college student, not a bad idea to establish a track record of paying your credit card bill off every month (make sure you DO that, and don't build up debt)
3) You don't have to worry about accidentally overdrafting $5 and getting charged a $20 penalty for it (but see B again...)

Prepaid CC for online purchases. That way you can keep a small amount on the card and can't get cleaned out. Mine even lets me set up a virtual card, that I can use and then delete once the charge clears. That and instant text messages whenever any charge hits makes it way harder to get cleaned out. I upgraded my phone once and before I even got out of the store the messaging feature let me know they had accidently double charged me.

My cc allows me to generate credit card numbers with spending limits for individual purchases. The service is called shopsafe or something similar. No need to every worry about being overcharged or having your cc compromised. Only issue is an additional minute or two for every purchase but worth the hassle for peace of mind.
