Hello ECF!

1. When posting here, should I always link companies (especially forum suppliers) when I mention them? I noticed a couple times they linked automatically, and other times they didn't.

2. I have a couple atomizers on the way because I really want to try a lot of different liquids. I know through research, especially on this thread, that it isn't necessary to clean the atty each time when I switch juice, as long as I don't follow a hot cinnamon with a light fruity vape or similar big swings. But I have read that for a couple hits I will experience a mix of the flavors. It seems this means even related flavors would linger for possibly longer than the stated couple of hits- so what's a good way to avoid that? (I am currently vaping on cigalikes I got from Vapor 4 Life, but have a dial-a-volt from them on the way and a Provari fund started. Got the 510 attys and an adaptor.) Knowing myself as well as I do, I probably will stick with carto/carto tanks for my everyday stuff but got the atty for sampling.

3. My cigalikes are sealed (Titans), so I am not that concerned about getting liquid in them when I start dripping, though I will probably use the dialavolt mostly for the atty so I can experience different voltages when sampling the juice- but using the adapter concerns me. Will getting juice in it cause it to fail? Does the adapter impact performance at all?

4. Provari is going to be my choice when I upgrade, one of the things I love is the fact that it is Made in the USA. Does anyone know any cartomizers that are made in the US? Either 510 or the 808d?

5. I have a DCT from Vapor4Life as well, and just vaped it down. I want to clean it out before I refill, but the plastic seems pretty flimsy- should I avoid boiling it? Is running hot water through it enough or should I use something like a vinegar/water mix? The first fill and vape tasted kind of like vinyl. Not a ewww burnt carto, but like I had licked the seats in the Lincoln MarkIII from my childhood.

Thanks for all the info ahead of time.

Hi, Jobear... Here's my take on both Qs
2 and 4:
Cinnamon, coffee, menthol and some others will linger eternal in your atty and carto. You'll find a variety of cleaning methods here on ECF, each with its proponents and detractors. I've tried boiling water, alcohol, ultrasonic cleaners, and dry burn. For your cartos I recommend using Everclear, an insanely high proof vodka. It cleans like a champ even on filler or wicks and dries fast; much faster than water (duh).
Using an atty for testing (dripping) depending if it's a mega and/or its resistance, after e.g. 5 nice draws, you'll loose the full flavor of the juice and probably get a metallic and or just nasty burnt taste. I first blow out any liquid remaining, drop some Everclear in and blow that out, then dry burn to see the red atty glow clean. Usually 1 or 2 quick dry burns are enough if the atty is only used for 5 or 10 drops of testing. Anyway, that's what has worked for me.
My 2¢: You might want to try a tank with your carto, it will stay wet, help prevent burning & dry hits, and extend the life of the carto.
And lol, I didn't just wake up, it's 3:30 AM in California.

Thank you, Unclo.
I've kind of given up on cleaning the cartos- I just toss em and buy new ones. I don't go through them very quickly so it's not cost prohibitive. For the atty I probably will pick up some Everclear (Although only the 151 is available in my state, not the 190). I do have a tank and plan on getting many more, especially as I upgrade from the cig a likes I'm vaping on now. Right now I'm concentrating on finding liquid I consider "tank worthy" until I can build up a collection of them.

If you're using similarily flavored juices with a good atty and wish to change flavors, simply insert a piece of tissue at the dripping end and blow out as much juice as possible from the battery end. Refill with maybe five drops (dependent on thickness) and enjoy. I use HH357 atties with mostly tobacco flavors and only need to clean thoroughly about once a week.

Thank you El_tecolote! I use Avidvaper for most of my accessory purchases. Are the HH357s worth the extra bucks?

In my opinion, a definite yes. I am using the same three HH357's (almost daily) I purchased before last Christmas without any issues. With proper attention to a minimum degree of maintenance, these really seem to last. I also have a couple of the Aero's, but I prefer the HH357 for performance and longevity.
