Hello E-cig forum,

My name is Scooch, and I have joined the wonderful world of vaping, having done so for just a little over a week now. My wife rainkeltoia won my e-cig starter kit from a contest started on this forum, and presented it to me as a B-day gift. Initially I was skeptical about how well these e-cigs would work for me as a much cleaner and better alternative to what have now become known as analogs. Having been smoking for nearly 7 years i hadn't thought there was anything that could provide the same feeling and sensations but I am happy to announce that e-cigs have definitely filled the void i knew would be left after cessation of smoking. I had thought years ago that i would be smoking well into my 60's (if i had lived that long) but now I am very happy to say that i am indeed going to be living well past my 60's. This is all thanks to those who took the time to find a much cleaner and better method of quitting smoking and most especially to my amazing newly wedded wife rainy.

This is a new beginning for me and I hope to see all of you in the other forums

after around 18 years of analogs and thousands of days saying i would never smoke again i finally decided to buy a cheap e-cig set a couple months ago... i have not had one single analog since, and i can not even imagine having one now. just the thought makes my stomach hurt a bit. hard to believe something i thought i would die without for so many years i now can not imagine having... its wonderful, and i have noticed a HUGE difference in going to the gym everyday to run and swim. i hope my years of the ugly habit will not come back to haunt me too young, i guess its never too late to quit, i just wish i had discovered e-cigs a decade earlier :)

my father-in-law lives in romania where e-cgs are expensive, and i sent him a kit since he is a 30 year 2 pack a day smoker, and i prayed that he would fall in love with it as much as i have, but unfortunately not. such a shame. i think the health insurance companies should give them away for free to anyone that has a health plan with them that smokes. if everyone who smokes would jsut try them one time god only knows how much useless death could be avoided

good job, and never turn back, there is no reason to ever go back

Howdy Scooch,

Another e-cig newbie here, from the foothills of North Carolina.

Welcome to ECF, a truly awesome site. This place is slam full of nice, knowledgeable folks
who are VERY supportive of us converts. I make a point of referrring this place to everyone
who asks me about my e-cigarette.

"Is that one of those E-cigarettes?"

"Yes, and it is the best thing since shirt pockets. Google up 'Electronic Cigartette Forum' to find out more."

Yeah I hear you my mother has been a smoker now for over 30 years, just about a pack a day, its very worrying to me to know the damage that has been done to her lungs. The one thing i did notice however is that she did seem very interested in my e-cig and how quickly I "jumped ship" as it were. I was fortunate enough to be able to switch cold turkey from one to the other, with little to no detoxing. Other then some bleeding gums and the urge to actually light an analog but that goes away when I have a vape or two or 10 lol.

Welcome, Scooch. You have a smart wifey there. E-cigs have definitely been a life saver for me, and for pretty well everyone else here. Like you, and probably like most of us as well, I never thought I'd ever be able to quit, having tried several methods before and finding them to be utterly lacking. But E-cigs did it for me, they did it painlessly and effortlessly, and did it so well it's like my body never knew the difference. Except that things were strangely smelling and tasting better all of a sudden.

One day, I'd love to meat Hon Lik (inventor of the E-cig and CEO of Ruyan) and shake that man's hand vigorously.
