Scorching my cartos

So after much research I'm kind of baffled since I think I'm doing all the right things.

I've noticed that I'm scorching most of my cartos recently and I don't think anything I've done has changed. I'm still pretty new to vaping so I've spent a good amount of time reading the forums to ensure a smooth start.

Based on recommendations I've started with a Halo G6 manual 808 & halo cartos.

The drags are short, and the wick is kept saturated.

I'm exclusively vaping 100% VG natural flavors from Velvet Vapors.

I always wait 20+ minutes after fully saturating using the drip-from-the-top-at-an-angle method, 4-8 drips at a time until a drop comes out the bottom. Dripping into the filler not down the channel.

Now recently new cartos seem to scorch almost right away for me and I'm at a loss.

Any ideas? I thought the halo 808 cartos are supposed to be the highest quality non-tank 808s available.

Thanks!

Thanks!

We're talking distilled water here then? I'd always assumed PG would be more viscous than VG since my 100% VG from Velvet always seemed to be nice and thin and PG is in stuff I think of as solid such as deodorant. Good to know. In fact I do notice that the worst scorcher is also my favorite, blueberry, which seems to be the thickest of the mixes that Velvet has so far that I've tried.

The water thing got me thinking so I threw some filtered water into a dropper bottle and "chased" some slightly scorched-coil-looking cartos that were mostly full with 1 drop down the channel and 1 drop at the top of the filler and not only did they immediately vape better, the taste and scorched-ness of the coil started to fade after a few drags...

This was great advice man, thanks.

And remember that if you add thin the e-juice in some manner you are diluting the nicotine content. And depending on how many mgs of nicotine you start with and how many drops of water or PG you add you could, maye notice the difference.

I have kept track of e-juices that i have had in the past that I wanted again but gave me frustrations due ot consistency etc. In this I have tried different pg/vg rations instead of preferred all PG to see if that will make a difference and often it does simply because the base flavor is the 'thickening' agent. This also works well for flavors you like but seem to sweet - PG sweetened and using a PG/VG mixture cuts the sweetness because VG is not sweet tasting.
