Screws for Caravela

Please let me know. i have read they are 5M screws and this is what i found. I want to make sure. Thanks.

Way too much money, and you certainly don't need 10 of them.

I needed a new center pin screw for my hcigar Caravela. Bought a 4-pack for just a couple of bucks at Home Depot. They were steel and not brass, but work the same. You will need to grind the screw down until it's the right length. Can't remember the size (just bring your old center pin screw with you when you go to buy .... Mine is an Allen set screw.

You can also grind down this surface (red arrow pointing to the bottom cap) a little to decrease or eliminate the gap between the bottom of the tube and the bottom cap:

Ok good to know. So steel works. I will head to home Depot this weekend and see what I can find. I like the allen head. Thanks for the info.

Ummm, do you realize that you've ground away the venting path for when your battery explodes? I'd suggest grinding new notches to replace the ones you ground away.

That small hole you see in the bottom of the cap also allows any gas to exit to atmosphere, so I am not worried.

But, thanks for the info ... I may still cut 1 small notch in it anyway.

Anytime. It seemed like a pretty good solution to the sizing problem until I looked again and realized what those slots had to be for. Just figured you missed it and wanted to warn you.
