I was doing some cleaning and came across a couple old Li-ion rechargeable batteries for the Wii remotes, then I came across a 2GB SD card I forgot I had, boredom got the best of me I guess. :p

I used the the small copper portions of the Wii battery case to make the switch. When you squeeze the case the connection is made. Been working pretty well so far. Power vaping to see how long the bat will last. 3hrs and still working.:D

Thanks guys. The switch works really well. I didn't spend a lot of time but wanted to try it out as a quick test. I think now that I see how well it's working I'm going to expand on this a bit and spend a little more time on the details.

The battery itself is pretty impressive. 2000mahr. I spent $18 for 4 Wii batteries and a 4 position charging stand on deal extreme about a year ago. That equates to less than $5 per battery and the charger is free. More powerful than the 18500 I have in a flashlight mod.

Those tiny batts top out at around 450mAh.
They can't make them with bigger capacity at that size. Every battery size is limited at some capacity and that depends on battery chemistry.

Don't worry, the chinese sell some emergency chargers with 900mAh battery inside that is rated on the box at 18000mAh :D

Nice mod!

Well that sucks.8-o I knew it was to good to be true. I think your right. After about 4 hrs of heavy vaping she's all done. I'm going to have to run a discharge test and see what the rating really is.

Thanks for the info. It does last longer than the V4L mega manual battery but not nearly as purty. Looks like I'll have to find a thicker case and stack these puppies in parallel

You'll have a hard time matching them so they can be stacked in parallel.

You need a lot of them, charge them fully and discharge them against a known consumer then time the discharge. Stack together only those that discharge the same (time it and use a low ohm resistor, 3Ohm 10Watts).

Before stacking make sure they are all fully charged. Use precise measuring equipment, not the cheap multimeters!
You know the danger of mismatching them...

Good luck!

PS: DX sells packs stacked in parallel, just have a look in the RC/helicopter area.
