SD not working :-(

Hi ECF,

Well my SD is just over a week old and this morning its not working.

I have tried 2 proven attys and still nothing. The battery is charged and the charger shows a green light.

The battery is inserted + side up but still nothing.

I have emailed TW and there customer service is normally very good but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions as i am all out.

Hey Chris,

When I first got my SD a year ago I ran into the same problem. What I found out is that the Nano Charger was defective or blew out. Rarely happens and the only way I figured it out was that I happened to have ordered another charger, so batts that were charged in that one worked. When the Nano doesn't work, the green light stays on all the time whether you put in a fully charged battery or a dead one.

I got my SD from Trog in Britain (The Maker/Designer of the SD) before TW carried it. Run down to Radio shack and get a cheap or $20 multiple batt charger that takes the CR123's (16340). I ordered a great one from Deal Extreme but will take 2-3 weeks from China. Once you confirm that it's a faulty Nano charger you can contact TW and have them replace your defective one. But in the meantime you will be vaping with the new charger.

If that doesn't work, you can return the charger to Radio Shack and get TW to replace your SD. I think they have a 28 day warranty or return policy.

By the way, Trog is having an insane sale on the SD right now. buy one get one free for about $72 with shipping, making each about $36. Always good to have a backup or alternate. Has the SD for 901, 510 and 801. And you can choose the finish: Aluminum (like TW version), Black and Gold. I just caved and got two since I've been waiting for the prices to come down.

Chris, when my SD stopped firing, I found it wasn't making contact with the spring. Every once in awhile, I have to adjust the position of the spring. Good Luck.

If you've got the MK2 that TW sell have you tried tightening up the switch from inside, just a thought. Use a screwdriver to tighten it as they can come loose. The MK1 and MK2 use different batts btw. Good luck.
I've also heard of users taking the switch out and refitting it again and it magically comes back to life lol

As Fruits has said check the spring tightness. There is little that CAN go wrong with a Mk2 SD.

1 Eliminate the possibility it is the battery or charger

2 Eliminate the possibility the atomiser has died

3 Check the switch/spring is all screwed up tight

4 Clean the SD to atty contacts, clean the SD body threads

5 - something really weird is going on - call TW
