Long story short, I bought an M400 kit instead of a Joye501 kit. I bought automatic batteries and a PCC to go with it. The only piece I'm happy with is the PCC. The M400 carts are TINY and the automatic batteries suck. They activate when I don't want them to and they are driven by sound. When the attys are clogged I have to pull like a ....... just to get it to activate the batty. Poops.

So, now that I know about this place, and the advice I can get, I figured I'd ask.

Question 1) Joye510 or Ego.
I like the idea of it looking like a cigarette. I'm a phish head and I'm going to catch enough flack trying to get these into a show. With all the pot pipes headed in it will be hard to convince security that this is not one. The more it looks like a cig, the better. I have found it in white but I can't find a tan tip. All white might fly, maybe white with a black tip. IDK.

The EGO seems a better battery and EVERYBODY seems happy with it. Since I've already wasted money on the M400 will it be a waste to buy a 510? Will I find myself 2 weeks from now wishing that I had bought the ego?

Question 2) Can I get tan tips and a white battery?

Question 3) Where should I buy? I've now bought from 3 different shops and had varying experiences. They weren't bad, but I'm going to Atlantic City (for Phish, YEAH) next Friday. I'd need everything to be shipped (to NJ) and in hand by Thursday of next week.

Question 4) If buying a 510, what should I look out for? I hear there are knockoffs. How can I tell. Also, am I better off buying LR Attys and Battys and Carts or picking up a starter kit?

BLAH!!!!

Thanks

Nhaler (an ECF supplier) is in Brunswick, NJ. I'd suggest an eGo kit:

Ego Kits

... and for a larger cartridge try one of these:
EGO Mega Atomizers

... good for 4-6 hours ymmv.

You might try to contact Drew (owner) directly or by phone to see if he can deliver on time or perhaps a pick up:

Buying a 510 kit wouldn't be a big mistake (you're going to have to replace batteries as you go along anyway), but I also suggest one of the "Fat Batts" as I call them. That is, eGO/Tornado, Riva, Hello 016, etc. I describe them (providing links to some suppliers) on this page of my WWV V2. [NOTE: NHaler is one of our community's outstanding suppliers and it is based in NJ. But another good supplier might have a lower price (e.g., because of a sale) ... and most offer two-day Priority shipping (from anywhere in the US).]

I do not suggest a white battery with tan mouthpiece. Yes, you don't want your e-cig to look like the kind of device you mentioned. But most of us don't want it to look like an analog cigarette either. For example, do they allow smoking at that Phish concert? These days I vape almost everywhere (e.g., in many different hospitals during my wife's recent illness). If challenged, I show them my PV (a ProVape-1, which looks nothing like a cigarette) and explain that I am not smoking; it is my vaporizer. [Of course, I am older than dirt; you know that subculture better than I: "vaporizer" might get you into more trouble than puffing on a cancer stick.]

Hold off an LR (low-resistance) atomizers at this point and get a kit. You can always try them out (along with mega batts, carts, and cartos) later. Heck, you may choose to move away from the dark side into the light of the penstyle model (e.g., 801).;) [Yeah, I said that with a wink, but I really am a true believer in the 801 and its brethren.]

Enjoy the adventure!
