I bought a starter kit 3-4 months ago. Money is a concern. I have 3 Mega 510 batteries and 3 standard atomizers. All parts are still working, but from what I have read here and on the manufacturer's site, my batteries are near the end of their life and my atomizers are definitely past it. I am a heavy vaper, so the parts are in use constantly.

Thought about ordering 2 new atomizers, but then thought perhaps that wasn't the best idea since it's possible my batteries may need to be replaced soon as well. My current hardware DOES work, but my atomizers seem to have less airflow now and my batteries seem to need recharging more frequently, though it's possible I may just be vaping more. Buying parts separately and paying additional shipping down the road seems more expensive.

So, 1)Would it be wiser and more cost effective to buy a new kit from Liberty Flights? I was considering either the Ego kit for 39.99 or the Riva 510 Lite kit for 29.99. Both would come with compatible atomizers, so I could keep using my current batteries. The Riva kit is cheaper, but I can see that it's not a Joye product, so that concerns me. 2) Is the Riva just as good? 3)Also, I noticed the charger included in the kit is a USB fast charger and a USB mains plug. Does this mean it comes with an adapter to use in a wall outlet? I've heard too many horror stories about charging using USB ports. Thanks in advance.

I too have experienced 3-4 months battery life before they start to drop off and start requiring more rechargers and reduced life between those charges. Seen them start acting funny also...

Before answering your questions directly, let me state: IF you get a Riva or eGo kit, DO NOT use the charger from the eGo/Riva with the Mega 510 batteries.

1)Would it be wiser and more cost effective to buy a new kit from Liberty Flights? I was considering either the Ego kit for 39.99 or the Riva 510 Lite kit for 29.99. Both would come with compatible atomizers, so I could keep using my current batteries. The Riva kit is cheaper, but I can see that it's not a Joye product, so that concerns me.

I think it would be wiser to move to an eGo/Riva kit (wherever you get it), or even consider going to an epower kit (as long as you are NOT using tank atomizers). The epower does not use proprietary batteries and they are inexpensive to replace, and work with your current 510 atomizers also.

2) Is the Riva just as good?

I have not had any problems with my Riva batts, however I understand from a certain source that the return rate on them is much higher then the eGo batteries. Another thing to consider, the eGo is using pulse width modulation (PWM) to maintain a constant 3.2vdc under load. It gives you a consistent vape fresh off the charger to end of charge. Recent Riva batteries do not use PWM and come off the charger @4.2vdc (~3.8vdc under load) and then diminish as used. The vape starts hotter, then levels off, then also diminishes - which some may like and some may not.

3)Also, I noticed the charger included in the kit is a USB fast charger and a USB mains plug. Does this mean it comes with an adapter to use in a wall outlet?

The USB mains plug allows you to plug into your household wall outlet. The USB fast charger plugs into that OR another USB power source.

Best of luck in whatever you decide

To me, Liberty-Flights' 750 mAh Riva "Lite Bundle" for $30 is the more cost effective alternative to their 650 mAh eGo "Standard Bundle" for $40. Joye is one of the very good e-cig manufacturers, not the only one.

I believe that the batteries in the "Lite Bundle" are also the 3.2V Jolly Rogers mentioned. [Personally, I would prefer the true 3.7V batteries and somewhat lower resistance atomizers in the $35 Riva Special Edition for a more intense vaping experience.]
