So I received my order of Flavor West juices last night; Unicorn Vomit, Double Dutch Chocolate, Graham Cracker, Candy Watermelon & Honey Wood tobacco.
Whipped up a bunch of 5mL tester batches.
The Graham Cracker = Fabulous! This could easily be an all day vape for me! I love this one!! Tastes just like the one I was buying from my local shop. 10% Flavoring at 3mg.
Unicorn Vomit = my Girlfriends all day vape. She loves this one!! We tried a 10% batch which I thought was spot on, but she wanted more flavor, so we did another batch at 15% and she said that was exactly what she wanted! Made 2 batches, 1 at 3mg and another at 6mg.
Honey Wood Tobacco = this was "interesting". Haven't decided if this flavor is good or bad? made a 5mL tester batch at 10% Honey Wood Tobacco + 2% LorAnn's Caramel (thought the Caramel and wood would blend well together). The caramel doesn't come through at All. This has a Very "Woody" finish and SMELL with a Sweet tobacco upfront Taste. It is Quite different. The lady likes it for it's "different-ness". But we are both on the fence with this one. I will be vaping it today at work, so hopefully by this evening I will have more of an opinion on it.
Double Dutch Chocolate = this was Amazing! Very Chocolatey, not overpowering or overly sweet. But Bold, rich, chocolatey flavor. I think this could easily be vaped as a stand alone flavor! We vaped this tested batch on the same wicks from the Graham Cracker, so it had that lingering Graham Cracker finish, that of course, much appreciated! This was 10% with 3mg.
Candy Watermelon = Actually wasn't as sweet as expected. good finish, no bad after taste, not overly sweet or overpowering. We did 5mL at 10% with 3mg, and easily this could be 15% and still probably not be overpowering! I am excited for this flavor. We can make a bunch of good fruity recipes with this one!!
Any way, that was my evening last night!! I don't think I chain vaped as much as I did last night Ever before!!
One thing I have noticed with my juices so far, is my first round where all made with LorAnn's flavorings. I steeped all of them in a crockpot for about 1 1/2 hours. And they all seemed to vape, for lack of a better term, "Wet". It wasn't a pleasing sensation. The flavors were good as soon as you hit it and brought it into your mouth, then almost immediately the flavor would decrease significantly and then I'd be left with this "wet" feeling in my mouth, throat and lungs.
This new Flavors West juice wasn't doing that at all last night, so I figured it was the LorAnn's and maybe due to them being an Oil based flavor. BUT this morning (I have the Honey Wood Tobacco* and my woman has the Unicorn), both are vaping a little bit "wet". So, now I am back to square one.
Why is this doing this? What could be the overall issue.
Someone on another thread said I was using too high a % for LorAnn's (I was making them at 15 - 25%). So i tried a batch at about 12% flavoring (diluted after I made it at 20%) and it stll vaped "Wet".
Now my Flavors West juice is doing this as well? FW even recommends that their juices are mixed to 15 - 20% and we mixed at 10%.
Anybody know what I am talking about and/or experience this with their juices??
