To my santa: Since I know you're probably checking tracking to see if I got it yet, I wanted to say that I didn't :( I will update here as soon as I do. I know the tracking says expected today but it doesn't seem to have updated and nothing showed up in the mail. This happens a lot to me. about 8 / 10 times the item will show out for delivery one day, and not arrive until the next.. and sometimes they just forget to scan the stupid thing.

So hopefully tomorrow :)

I went priority. Never even thought about parcel post. I printed the label from my computer and only had to drop it off at the counter. If the package is small enough to fit in the mailbox, you don't even need to go to the PO. Not sure if you can print a parcel post label off the USPS site though.

Mine is still sitting wrapped and ready to be shipped, but alas, I didn't get to the PO today  I am curious.. how is everyone sending theirs? First class parcel post or priority? I am wondering what will be the easiest and least expensive.. what's everyone else doing?
Since I was slow getting it in the mail I sent Priority.

OK, I'm a "postie", so here goes the speech  :

If it's under 13 ounces it can go first class, and go right in the mailbox. If you can weigh it, you can go to USPS.com and get how much postage you'd need to put on it, stamps are fine!

If it's over 13 ounces, it has to go priority or parcel post, and you have to hand it to a clerk in the PO. If they are not too far from you, it won't matter much (timewise) how you send it. If they are on the opposite coast, or more than halfway across the US, or you're in Maine shipping to Texas or something, it could take a week to get to them by parcel post. Up to you.

The website is sucky in that you can only print the postage for priority and express mail online. You can find the correct amount for first class or parcel post online, but you can't print the label and pay online.

Hope that helps! If you have questions, ask away! :)
