It embarrasses people who have followed the guidelines to receive a gift outside those guidelines. Imagine spending 20 but receiving 50+ - you'd feel like your gift was crappy in comparison - that's why there are guidelines for spending. We are asking that the participants follow the guidelines to avoid hurt feelings.

Hmmm. Not sure if I want to participate, or if I can, but I do think the rules are a good thing. SS last year was HUGE, of course I am unaware of the issues, but I'm all for thwarting problems before they start.

Lynlee - a good way to go over without going over would be to look for sales... make a few little items to throw in... etc. Umm... that's not against the rules is it?
